It has come to my attention that this issue has set a record on received mail by the SCCA.

There are 2 days left to register your desires to the BoD ,CRB and President in this matter.

If you and someone you know has not yet sent a letter, please do so.

links are throughout this post and another one tab up.

Friday at 5pm Central is the cut off.

    Thanks,

Time to toss out the Works Team, for starting this and time to Boycott Elan.

GTP also has parts for us

Further we must all discuss Class action against SCCA AND Elan for tortious interference and fraudulent inducement since they lied on development cost and many other aspects. SCCA already has pointed out to me that if I sue I will lose my membership. But Fat Boy Racing can sue and does NOT have a membership.

Most of you drive Van Diemens. Think of all those who don't. What is the probability that a non Van Diemen customer can even get parts or an engine?

If SCCA will ignore rules, and precident to make the Elan engine legal, who is dumb enough to think that this show of preference won't prevail in all things involving an Elan engine, even to a post race tech inspection.

Zebra, what is your count of customers? Sorry clients?

    GTP

has not used elan since the beggining of last season. They had a falling out,
they have numerous new pieces such as billett racks alumn uprights they are debuting at the first event. NO need to call any body else for parts they arfe completely stocked and have a new 40ft parts only support trailer.
They have a massive inventory in stock and constantly adding.
Stock about 10k worth of PFC, massive amount of bodywork noses side pods floors BBS rims in stock complete wings from spa and have 99% percent of that car being made in the states.
    all parts on the shelf
they never stopped being a dealer and have a trailer just for parts to support the series this year.
Theyhave any piece that anybody would need plus were stocking piper parts for fast forward,

I'm telling my mate the story about the wankers over there and he says it is this guy we used to see in the factory on Tuesday's. He smelled like cheese. Turns out my mates uncle also worked with the bloke at Lola. He said don't trust the tosser - he's a liar. Sounds like the violence is still inherent in the system.

Good luck mates - I'm off to give a good spanking.

I wonder how much this commercial for GTP cost them. You should get ahold of Hillery Clinton, they need someone to make her sound better then she really is, just like you just did for GTP.

    Charles,
This is getting good, if you sue you will lose your membership but if an interrelated vendor sues we will violate our own rules and settle. Plus if a "member" team made up of members sues an affiliated organization sanctioned by us it's ok. Interstate commerce, federal courts,
the sanctions and attorneys fees in federal court make it a lot more fun.

If we spend the same time we waste on Apex in discovery( for the non lawyers, discovery to us is as engineering is to race cars, you can always tweak more out, race cars speed, underappreciated societal scum lawyers $).

Actually come to think of it, there should be a legal action taken against Elan,(of the criminal sort) for the crap they have been selling us,anyone who has assembled that lump of s*** they pass off as a car knows what I'm talking about.

I'm going to say this once for everyone to see... I'm really tired of all the crap on the forums lately—from pointless polls to post count padding to fake user accounts to slam others without using real identities. None of it will be tolerated.

Alias accounts are NOT allowed on ApexSpeed. If you are caught using a secondary account to attack others or express antagonistic viewpoints, all of your accounts will be permanently banned from ApexSpeed.

I don't care who you are, if you break our user rules, we'll get rid of you for good.

    Default REASONS

Ok, I've been quiet on this Elan engine topic long enough and anyone who knows me can tell you that I'm not short on opinions. I AM TOTALLY OPPOSED TO IT! The reason is that I want this class to survive. Because it is in the best interest of my business and my customers, SO CALL ME SELFISH. The funny thing is my customers also want us to survive. They know that we go to great lengths to offer them the most value for their money. The last thing we want is to tell them that they need to spend money on new unecessary engine parts to stay competitive when the engine package works so well as is. This "look out for your customers best interest" approach has worked well for us. Tom Fatur has been with us for nearly a decade and Matt Mcdonough and John Levy are not far behind. They are more like family and they shouldn't be forced to make unecessary changes and additional costs. SO CALL ME SELFISH. Parts customers want us to survive because we have a tremendous inventory of knowlege and spares that are essential in keeping them on track and the headaches to a minimum.
No one has given a good reason why we need this intake. The last thing any of us need is for the greedy to open this pandora's box! Look around at the other open wheel racing series. Are the healthy and growing? NO! Champ car is all but gone, IRL isn't all that strong either. Support series like I.P.S., Formula atlantic and Star mazda are all struggling with soaring costs and shrinking fields. In a year or two you'll probably be asking "what's a Forumula BMW?" These are tough economic times and the lack of planning and cost control is the reason this situation is now catching up with them.
So, what is the reason that F2000 is seeing such stunning growth? (at least with the Pro Series) the answer is that they have been "looking out for the customers best interest." The ability to control costs and operate without serious sponsorship money or having to fill the grid with rich guys or the kids of rich dad's (both of which are becoming harder to find) is key to this. If they or we lose this control we are in no better situation than all the rest of the open wheel world. We all need to say "NO" to unecessary cost escalation. Now and in the future.
I urge you to contact the BOD and CRB and say "NO". We won't be forced to make unecessary changes and increased costs so that a few may benefit financially. Changes should be made for the benefit of the drivers and teams so that the F2000 class can continue to flourish.

    Default Devil's Advocate

OK - getting back to the original thought of this thread...

First of all, in the interest of full disclosure, I do not own a FC, but I do crew in SCCA and F2000 for friends.

Secondly, I am against the hurry up and approve the new manifold and map idea.

Going back a way, a lot of work was done in the form of testing and remapping in order to equalize the Pinto and Zetec engines. The Pintos and Zetecs seemed reasonably competitive in the F2000 series last year. At this moment I do not recall the conclusion regarding Pinto/Zetec equality in the SCCA races (please remind me).

But, to get to my point, what if the same amount of testing was performed with 2 Pintos, 2 QSR Zetecs and 2 EPP Zetecs? Could the EPP engine be mapped to match the performance of the QSR engine?

Now, before you say yes or no, put aside all your warm and fuzzy feelings towards Elan and the teams that wish to use the EPP engine.

Please don't flame me: I'm not trying to be a wise guy. I am honestly trying to put forth a scientific hypothesis. And I have not received any compensation for this.

Put all 6 on the same chassis dyno on the same day with the same tension on the straps with the same operator and you will get the numbers you need. Will that happen,........NO!

Default One Day to Go !

Gang, All we can hope for is that all our "votes" are heard and actually carry weight with the SCCA

Soon we will find out if the SCCA is the Member Driven organization as they state they are.

Interestingly enough, this has seemed to drawn most of the FC community closer together

OK, enough of that sentiment stuff. (Long Island please refrain from the comment)

If your reading this I'm sure you wrote your letters. Call your buddy who maybe did not.

One Day to go!!! Friday 5 pm Central time

Thanks Apex for allowing this to happen here!

And thanks for also stopping what was happening here.
