Thermo Housing / Water Outlet

Looking for a replacement housing for my 88-SF Renard Pinto - found a hairline crack in mine after fitting a thermostat (no, it tightened nice and even).



Looks like a Cortina Mk1 & 2 part - number on it: 731F-8250-AA.

Racing this coming weekend, looks like a tough weld...

Hi,

Dave Bean carries a raw casting, I.E. no holes and gasket side needs machining. If you have access to a mill, no problem.

Otherwise Mopar Slant 6 and '78 and newer Mopar small block V8 water outlets work. Summit and Jegs have some options.

It's a standard Ford Kent part - might be worth cross-posting in the FF section as I'd imagine someone there has a spare.

Do a search on eBay for this: 1974 2.0L ford pinto water outlet

That will bring up numerous hits. Be cautious of which model you need. There are some that the two bolt holes are kind of 'in line' across the water outlet and some that the two bolt holes are 'offset' from centerline.

Ther is an Everco w1440 on Ebay. Located in Houston. Maybe cross reference that to another number.

On a 2.0L Pinto engine - but is a 1.6L Kent part. Typical race car....

I have a replacement on the way (Everco part number), next couple of days I hope. Since it's still in one piece and not broken - just a fracture - I've jot it patched with JB Weld (long dry time, high strength & high temp - just in case.

Believe it or not - the Kent engine was used in a lot of industrial equipment, including sweepers, an industry I have contacts in.
