    You probably don't want to hear this, and will get tired of reading it here... but... You would be better off safety wise pouring a good foam seat.

    And save money.

    Yeah, I've gotten several fiberglass seats with Vintage cars I've acquired but have no intention of using them. Not sure I would even feel comfortable selling one due to safety concerns.
    (Not only are the foam or bead seats safer, the fiberglass is very old.)

    I race an "88 Reynard FC with a fiberglass seat. I have, naively, been very happy with it. I've never recognized the danger and have had, I hate to admit, two severe accidents. I've had no injuries due to it. What am I missing as to why a foam seat is safer? What danger should I be looking out for?

    a fiberglass seat vs. a good bead seat is like comparing a leather helmet and goggles to a Stilo;

    when you need it most is when you'll be glad you have it.
