    Default Van Diemen RF-79 front wheel bearings?

    Can anyone tell me what wheel bearings should be in this car? I thought they were supposed to be Triumph Spitfire, but they are not:

    On car ;
    inner ID 1.062
    inner OD 1.975
    outer ID 0.750
    outer OD 1.750

    Spitfire
    inner ID 1.000
    inner OD 2.000
    outer ID 0,625
    outer OD 1.625

    Thanks Glenn

    Are the front uprights GT 6 as well or are the spindles just the difference?

    It has been a number years, but the uprights may be a different thing.

    For anything related to VD cars of that era, Universal Racing Services in the UK is your answer. Simon can get you sorted out with parts and advice.

    Very highly recommended.

    easy to ID a spitfire upright---the caliper bolts directly to the upright

    on the Herald/GT6 side of the family tree, there is an adapter plate that bolts to the upright, and the caliper bolts to that
    I don't know the diff between Herald / GT6 units, but they look pretty much the same. I think herald uses spit wheel bearings. The spindle and bearings are bigger in a gt6
