    Default 1997 Van Diemen RF97P Sports 2000

    Up for sale is my 1997 Van Diemen RF97P Sports 2000
    Great car with SCCA Runoffs history.
    One of the more unique and (IMO) good looking S2s, this car is a fan favorite and gets a lot of smiles per gallon.
    Iron head Ivey Pinto new in 2019 dyno’d at 143hp with less than 10 hours
    New clutch and pressure plate with one weekend use
    Three sets of OZ wheels
    Nine LD200 gearsets (4 in car, 5 spares) and 2 new spare dogrings
    Belts good through 2024
    Other spares include an unfinished nose, new brake pads, Motec CAN to USB communication cable and pit wall beacon, one front upright, brake caliper, new set of unmounted American Racer slicks (purchased for track day hooning) and a few other miscellaneous bits.

    Hi Wally,

    I am in New Waverly, TX. I am considering a return to endurance racing in WRL.

    Building a German Touring car is a Ling process.

    NP01 cars race in WRL and I wondered how your P2 car compares to an NP01.

    Our Sebeco NP01 in WRL trim has around 190hp to the wheels with a weight around 1700lbs to meet a 9:1 power to weight ratio requirement. 6 speed sequential Sadev SL82 gearbox with LSD and significantly more downforce than an S2000 car. In the WRL we have a run a 200 tread wear tire, typically Bridgestone’s RE71-RS. WRL GTU cars must be closed top.

    Hi John,
    Thanks for your interest in my Van Diemen S2.
    I'm not familiar enough with the NP01 or WRL to really give you any good advice here but I know that David Ferguson (Veracity Racing) has converted a sister car to P2 spec with Mazda power and a wing. Perhaps he can give you some advice.
    I see some others have chimed in on the thread so hopefully you'll get some answers.
    Of course you are always welcome to come see my car for yourself.
