Garden Grove racing enthusiast killed in dune buggy crash

Garden Grove racing enthusiast killed in dune buggy crash

Robert Lowell Swenson, 81, an avid racer and respected figure in the racing community, died in a fatal crash at a popular Idaho tourist spot.

I spent a lot of my life as a Fiat X1/9 enthusiast, so his FProd build-up featured in the PBS Project X1/9 book will be forever etched in my mind.

I'm sorry to hear he is no longer with us. Thanks for sharing the news.

Bob was a true racing enthusiast, I remember him from Cal Club days racing Fiats, Ford XRP’s and bringing his trailer full of Spec Racers. He was also a great RC Plane and Helicopter pilot. PBS Engineering was and still is a very inventive racing company he founded with his brother Paul.
