This kind of reminds me of the Lewis business model:

Looking through today's Homestead results, has "Leading Edge Grand Prix" changed their name yet again ??? Nothing seems straight forward with that bunch.
It may be easy to mistake Global Racing Group for LEGP, but please don't. Jon Lewis has nothing to do with the new team.
Just browsing this morning and saw this: http://www.leadingedgegp.com/Crew.html
Partnership Relations. John Lewis has secured, implemented and managed $millions in highly successful motorsport partnership campaigns over the past 29 years, including such companies as AmeriSuites Hotels, Cabo Wabo Tequila, Sprint Long Distance, Benihana Restaurants and over 30 others.
John is responsible for managing Leading Edge Grand Prix’s marketing campaigns and assisting our drivers with their personal sponsors to insure that all of our partners and our driver’s sponsor’s goals are reached or exceeded.
Besides being a motorsports marketing professional, John is also an accomplished driver having driven in the IMSA Camel GT GTP class, as well as an award-winning professional Team owner winning numerous races including the legendary 12 hours of Sebring.

For Jon, that's pretty good. He almost made his ponzi scheme last a full season.
We all called this oved a year ago, I just hope the drivers didn't get taken for a lot.
Konrad....
The F4 team website:
http://www.f4uschampionship.com/pages/2016-f4-us-teams
links directly to a page with his picture.... and if you click 'the team' he's there too.
http://www.leadingedgegp.com/Crew.html
Kind of confusing if he's not involved...
I think his point is that they are no longer affiliated with Lewis or Leading Edge GP. They are now a different team. My guess is that John took their money, didn't have enough to pay for the rest of the season (I would also guess it started before the last event) and they all broke away and paid the crew separately.

You do realize that they just are arriving home from racing the past two days after weathering a hurricane for three days before that. They're dealing with completely restructuring an organization and getting their people and equipment protected and secure. I am sure that no one wants to clean up their internet trail more than GRG and SCCA Pro/F4.
I expect everyone involved in the Team and the Series is recovering with a day or two off ..... which to us racers means laundry, groceries, neglected chores, etc. Some will still be travelling home. Give em a break!

now seems he's going Pro Mazda in 2017

LEADING EDGE GRAND PRIX PUTS ITS PLANS TO CONTINUE IN F4 UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP ON HOLD
After lengthy conversations with SCCA Pro Racing President Mike Collins and Vice President Steve Oseth, Leading Edge Grand Prix has decided to suspend its plans to continue participation in the F4 United States Championship. Leading Edge Grand Prix sold its 2016 F4 cars and F4 support equipment preceeding the final event of the 2016 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway to the owner of Global Racing Group with plans to purchase new cars and updated equipment for the 2017 season. Leading Edge Grand Prix did not sell the "Team" or its points, just cars and support equipment. In fact, it was Leading Edge Grand Prix that paid (out of the proceeds of the sale) for the Leading Edge contracted crew to be at the final event manning the operation as well as the entry fees, tires, fuel, airfare, hotels, etc. However, the entry was made under the Global Racing Group name without our knowledge. SCCA Pro Racing took it upon themselves to consider the sale of our cars and equipment to mean we sold the entire Team. Clearly, this is not the case. But, in doing so, SCCA Pro Racing also awarded all of the Team points we garnered throughout the season (we were leading in Team Points going into the final event) to Global Racing Group and removed our listing on the F4 website as a 2016 team. This is unacceptable and unheard of in the world of motorsport. We therefore cannot in good conscious continue participation with a Series that has total disregard for the time and expense that we put into operating a race winning, front running Team. Further participation in F4 if any will be predicated by the demand from drivers who want us to provide them with our proven race-winning services.
Shocking! Who could have possibly seen that coming? Oh, yeah - all of us.
Poor Jon, always the victim.
But count your lucky stars, he now has an Indy Lights team and you can be one of their prestigious drivers for $850,000. Where do we sign up?!
Once a con-man, always a con-man.
So they have a shop in brownsburg eh?

$250K and $850K for Mazda and Lights is about half a seasons budget, not going to get you very far.
Jon, I know you are reading this, because we just removed more of your fake puppet accounts and posts of you talking about yourself posing as someone else. That, and the fact that your ego won't let you keep from looking.
You are NOT wanted here, but you know that already. You created your own reputation, no one else is persecuting you. Do us all a favor and go away already.
When does the third version of Jon/John start hitting print?

quite curious how selling off $35,100 worth of equity allows the purchase of additional race cars ( plural ! )?????

Leading Edge Grand Prix says "GoodBye"
June 2 at 1:50pm
After 30 exciting and rewarding years in business, Leading Edge Grand Prix, previously known as American Spirit Racing is closing its doors for good. "We have had a good run over the years," stated John Lewis. "I want to thank all the engineers, mechanics and drivers who have come through our operation. Its been my great pleasure to have worked with all of you. Its now time to enjoy the sport as a spectator."
Leading Edge Grand Prix is not affiliated with Leading Edge Motorsports, which is a terrific race engineering firm owned by championship winning engineer, Mark Weida.
