It looks like the Toyo Tires F1600 series will be at this event as well. So there will be Vintage, Club Ford, post Club Ford, and Modern FF there. Should make for a pretty exciting weekend for Formula Ford fans.
Just as a side note, modern fords will not be racing with any of the vintage cars, even for the feature race on Sunday

We plan to bring a stacker with 4-5 FF from western Canada.........
Hope to be there with a Crossle 30F that raced in the Bulova series back in the day
Why not try to get as many of these cars back as possible?

Does anybody have copies of Bulova results from '73 and '74? I have about a half dozen entries in my logbook from these and would love to get some info on these races.
Tad
I don't think so. If the results were in circulation, they would be on www.autocourse.ca
For some reason, the Bulova series results seemed to be lost in some sort of bureaucratic tangle.
I will ask the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame about them.
Daniel
Ask Don, he might have some results stored away.
Brian
Tad,
I'm starting to get some results from '73 for these races. Which car/driver were you interested in?
Daniel Thompson
Hi Daniel,
This sounds great. I'll have to double check the log book later today, but here's what I have so far... Crossle 25F, possibly #42?, driver's name is like Leonelli or something similar. I know mosport was one of them.
Tad
Looking at 1973, and of course I don't see your car. I believe the 25F came out in 1974? I will look at the 1974 results.
Daniel
check that, the 25F came out in 1972? At any rate, I don't see a 25F in the 1973 results (yet).
I believe the 25F is from 73 and 74. 72 still had the 20F.
Here's what I have from the log book that specifically state Bulova. I have others like CASC practice, HMSC Tigertown, Michigan GP FF, and Car and Driver Challenge that I don't know what events they were.
1973 aug 18-19 Bulova Championship Mosport Park – Leonelli
1974 april 28 Bulova Championship #1 – Leonelli
1974 june 16 Bulova – Leonelli
1974 june 29 Bulova – Leonelli
1974 oct 13 Bulova – Leonelli
Car was originally delivered on July 23rd, 1973 then ran the following four weekends... Nelson National, Blackhawk national, Glen national, then the bulova Mosport.
Definitely looks like the golden age of FF racing!
Tad,
I now have most of (not all of) the entry lists and results sheets for 1973 and 1974 Bulova Formula Ford Series races held at Mosport, including several of the dates you mention above. Although there are several Crossle 25F's entered, none of them are driven by someone with the name Leonelli.
Can you shed any light on this?
I'm going to try to compile the bits and pieces of information I have received into some sort of easily digestible format and post it online somewhere.
There is a Lance Leonelli, Car#726, Detroit, in a Lola T200 on the entry list attached. I just don't know yet what year this was from.
Mike Adams
Just confirmed the entry list is from 1971 when the sponsor was Shoppers World. The Bulova sponsorship was 1972 to 1976.
You guys are awesome! The entry list above is very cool. I may put money on #47
Yes, it is Lance Leonelli who filled out the majority of the first log book. The old log book photo shows it as white (or some light color as it's black and white) and number 42. No driver's name on the side. Maybe Leonelli was the entrant?

Up for stakes will be the Oliver Clubine Memorial Trophy given out after the historic Formula Ford feature race.
Large entry numbers expected!

It was a great weekend, not so much for me and my Chinook, but good friends all around made a great event. Sorry if I didn't find time to chat with anyone that visited our paddock, but it was always hectic.
