    Default SRF3 operational costs

    Over on the General Formula Car Discussion topic, I've been conducting a survey of operational costs for each class. Here I'm only interested in costs that differ significantly between the classes, and not, for example, entrance fees, hotel, food, etc.

    Drivers from some classes have responded with data for their class, and the result is a spreadsheet in Google docs.

    Here's what I have for this class. If you have changes, please reply below, and I will update the spreadsheet.

    I don't run a Gen3, but a Gen1 (Renault-powered) in SEDiv as SPU.

    I do run a GEN3 and used to run a GEN2, I also run a ESR in P2.

    I believe the Engine Hour number of 80 is way too low. The GEN3 SRF engines are basically street car motors with a very conservative RPM limit. If you don't do the stupid 4th to 3rd upshift mistake they should last like the GEN 2 engines did - basically for year.

    I know I have over 80 hours on my SRF GEN3 motor and finally consider it broken in.

    Now transmissions are another store, GEN2's broke transmissions from time to time maybe every 2 or 3 seasons. The increased power and RPM of the GEN3 reduced the lifetime of a trans to about 40 hours. Enterprises took some steps to improve this number, like hardened straight cut gears, and the promise of a dampened clutch, but you wont get these until you do your first rebuild which costs $3000 to $3500.

    Give me a number. You're in a better position to come up with a number than I am.

    Also, is the engine rebuild cost accurate--$5,000?

    Can you verify the other data I have above?

    The rest of your numbers seem reasonable.
    Not sure what they call this model of the engine, it's just one big sealed part to me.

    These car run fine on 93 oct pump gas, no ethanol if preferred as it's better for the life of the fuel cell.

    The spec tires are the Hoosier 46340 and 46350, right?

    I see them at Hoosier Tire East for $194 each, or $776 a set. Mounting and balancing additional.

    Where do you buy your tires?
