    Default F600 operational costs

Over on the General Formula Car Discussion topic, I've been conducting a survey of operational costs for each class. Here I'm only interested in costs that differ significantly between the classes, and not, for example, entrance fees, hotel, food, etc.

Drivers from some classes have responded with data for their class, and the result is a spreadsheet in Google docs.

Here's what I have for this class. If you have changes, please reply below, and I will update the spreadsheet.

    Class name: F600
    Engine make: Suzuki
    Engine model: GSX R
    Displacement: 600
    Power at crank, HP: 105
    Torque at crank, ft-lbs: 48
    Weight with driver, lbs: 875
    Purchase new, $: 25,000
    Tires set, $: 730
    Tire competitive heat cycles: 8
    Engine rebuild, $: 2,000
    Engine competitive hours: 27
    Fuel $/gallon: 3.50
    Fuel gallons/hour: 6
    Brake pads set, $: 110
    Brake pads hours: 13
    Other operational costs, $:

    Thanks,

This is a copy and paste from another forum that a newcomer had put together.

These are the figures I've received thus far from multiple races. Can anyone verify if these numbers are correct? I asked for what it takes to stay up front and these are the answers I received.

Tires 800.00 mounted and balanced. Will last full qual and full race then they fall off.
    Drive chain 130.00 6 races
    Brake pads 200.00 6 races
Rod end replacement 800.00 24 races
Brake rotor replacement 350.00 16 races
Seat belts 275.00 avg every 5 years

Motor: 2908.00 to 4908.00 initial cost
Four stroke professional built 3500.00 (plus 600 core)
Four stroke on ebay 1000.00 avg (will be 98% of a rebuilt motor compression if its under 3500miles)
    Header and muffler 650.00
    Oil Pan 700.00
    Power commander 300.00 https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss ... +commander
Auto tune for power commander 228.00 https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st_rele ... nceblender
oil change 30.00 every four races (7.50 per races avg)
Motor will have acceptable compression after 24 races (Need verification, seems high)

    Two stroke: Intitial cost 5246.00 to 5946.00 (2300 & 3000 motor plus 2446 clutching,pipe,carbs)
Professional built motor 3500.00 I assume older motors will be a little cheaper http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-2016-Ski-D ... K6&vxp=mtr
    Ebay motor 850 avg
Top end rebuild 800.00 to 1200.00
    Crank rebuild 650.00
    Ebay total 2700.00
    Driven clutch 495.00 http://www.wahlracing.com/Arctic-Revers ... lutch.html 8 race weekends
    Drive clutch 549.00 http://www.wahlracing.com/Polaris-Prima ... tches.html 8 Race weekends
    Clutch belt 119.00 http://www.wahlracing.com/Ultimax-XS-Belts.html 2 race weekends
    Weights 150 avg http://www.wahlracing.com/Clutching-Clutch-Weights/ 3 years or 24 races
    Spring 35.00 http://www.wahlracing.com/Polaris-Drive-Springs.html
    Spring 28.00 http://www.wahlracing.com/Arctic-Driven-Springs.html
Y pipe and expansion pipe 650 to 800.00
    Carbs 270.00 http://www.wahlracing.com/Mikuni-VM-Carburetors.html
Oil 25.00 per race (assuming 15 gallons of fuel is used)
Motor will have acceptable compression after 8 races (this is what I am currently seeing with my two stroke motor also)

Is there a reason that you listed F600 instead of F500?

Well, originally I was only listing one variation per class. Some classes have many possible engines, and I didn't want the spreadsheet to get too complicated, and I thought that in most cases an alternative engine wouldn't make too much of a difference in operational costs--i.e. enough to change the rankings. For the F5 class, I chose the MC engine just by my personal bias, I have to admit.

I may be wrong about alternative engines and costs. After one person suggested it, I added a second line for P2 with a different engine and car weight.

If you provide the data for it, I will add a line for F500.

This is more information than I can deal with. If you have different numbers for the spreadsheet, then please propose them. You know your class better than I do. I'm not in a position to boil this down.

    OK, good.

Now, how many competitive hours for each?

Also, can you confirm the other data values?

Oh, OK. Sorry. With the preciseness of the answer and the shortness of the sentence, I thought you were making fun of my obsessive need to measure. I've gotten that a lot in my life, and maybe I'm a little sensitive about it. I apologize. Thank you for helping. I'll add that to the spreadsheet.

OK, it appears that all the discussions in all the communities have died out, so you can find the results in the spreadsheet.
