    Anyone have a description or picture of the cable connection [ tab/ bracket location] at the engine?

    Thanks for the pictures. I have fabbed a bracket that bolts to the sprocket cover, cable comes up from floor pan. Just not sure if it's the best place.

    Over the years we have melted just about everything that can melt or burn within a foot or so from the motor and exhaust pipe. Clint covers EVERYTHING in heat shielding - on it and/or next to the heat source and this includes the throttle cable. It is amazing how far away heat will travel on the chassis tubing, eg - bubbling the fuel inside the fuel cell by receiving heat from the bottom chassis tubing. Once the exhaust pipe got loose and sat next to the rear brake caliper, result - boiled rear brake fluid and no rear brakes - yikes! And we don't even want to talk about what happened to Clint at the Runoffs due to heat.

    In case of doubt - heat shield it or suffer the consequences - it is better to err on too much heat shielding than not enough.

    Ceramic washers separating conductors.
    Air blow - something no one wants to do but works well.
