    Default what about the honda?

i've read a lot of what's being posted about the 40th.........but other than some threads and sites mentioning that there's this new idea about a honda fit engine and that one will be there ............i've yet to see anything about how the thing ran and what the drivers that wrung it out thought about it and what sort of lap times it had and what sort of tires it was on and how old those tires were........

    ........in short............

    hey what's the story ?????

Massive Honda threads with first-hand accounts and reviews from the people that saw it and the drivers that got a chance to shake it out, in the Formula Ford forum. Lots of photos, too. They had a transponder in it, but I didn't hear any lap times. It ran right with some of the better National FFs out there, though. Brand new GY 160s were stickers in the AM and used each session by each successive National driver who tested it.

Was driven by Weitzenhoff, Nunes, Robinson, LaRue and Bardwell. Not a bad group of shoes to shake it down. Most agreed it has a stout bottom end punch compared to a Kent, but that could be due to the raim air intake setup, or just the simple result of the fuel injection and computer controlled engine management. When asked if it was "a lot more" bottom end or "a little," the answer was, "it was a minor difference, but noticeable." Ran all weekend on the corner Citgo 91 pump gas, too.

Specifically, John Robinson II (post 198) and John LaRue (post 216) have posted their reactions after being in the car (in the Honda Engines in FF thread).

    Stan,
9:59 pm, is the bottle of kahlua empty already? I'll see you at Daytona next weekend and can tell you all about it. Now go and send a letter to the comp board telling them this is a valid issue if you want your grand son to also be able to run in a low hp non-winged open wheel car. (The kent is going to have a tough time running on the next generation of eco friendly bio fuels)

    John
