    Default Pro F2000 VIR Gearing?

From the baseline gearing sheet, it appears that VIR requires gearing similar to that required for Nelson Ledges, or maybe Mid-Ohio.

    I used 19/32, 21/30, 23/29, 19/21 at both M-O and Nelson, when I was there last in 2007.

Anyone have any updates on that selection based on using the Hoosier radials?

    Default SFR Gearing

    Hi, Instinct,

Here are three sets of ratios for Thunderhill, mine is the 1st column, 10/31 R&P:

    1st 17/35 17/35 17/35
    2nd 20/32 19/31 18/29
    3rd 22/30 22/30 19/25
    4th 24/28 23/27 24/27

I use the same at Laguna and can't speak for Infineon. My motor was going soft last year so I would not run anything taller but still had a good time.

    Cheers,
    FW

    Daryl,

We've never run Spokane. But Michael Lensen has. Get ahold of him. He will give you gearing.

If you cannot find a contact for him, I'll try to get his E-mail.

    Default Gearing for Hallett

    Fellow FC racers:

I have looked through the baseline gearing chart here on Apex, this is great information so Thank You.

The gearing that is suggested with a 10:31 is:

    1st 16/35
    2nd 18/33
    3rd 20/30
    4th 23/28

This is great information but Hewland nor Webster make an 18/33 for the LD-200.

So, I am asking for advice on gear ratios (10:31, LD-200, 1991 VD FC, 22" rear tires) from fellow VD FC racers that have run Hallett.

    Thank You,

    Aaron

Default Gearing for Oregon Raceway Park

If anybody's been out to ORP, would you be willing to share gearing suggestions? Since my car is such a mongrel of parts it would help if you also shared a comparison of gearing at a track I'm familiar with such as PIR (w/ or w/o chicane, Pacific Raceways or Spokane).

    Thanks

Nick, these are the gears we use at Buttonwillow

    1 st 16.35

    2 nd 17.28

    3 rd 22.29

    4th 24.27 or 24.26

4th gear selection depends on any wind effecting the track, or how dialed in the driver is!

more often we use the 24.27

    Default Gears for Watkins Glen?

I have some old info on this, but the Zetec seems to require significantly different gears than the Pinto does. And, since I have not run the Glen since 1992, I need a more current gear set-up that would apply to the Zetec as used with the spec Hoosier radials. My R&P is 10:31.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Default F2000 Zetec (Pro map) Gears for NJMP Thunderbolt?

As the title says, does anyone have a good gear setup for Zetec F2000 that they have used at this track? I have never been there, and with the limited practice time, I would like to avoid having to experiment with gears during the F2KCS weekend.

Default The Ridge Motorsports Park gearing

I know nobody's raced there yet but but perhaps somebody can compare the speed (gearing) with one of the other tracks out here? The front straight looks pretty long on the track map so maybe I'll just play it safe and leave the gearing I'll be running at Spokane in the car. Any thoughts?

I ran Summit Point gears there, which should be pretty close for you. It was good enough to get me into the low 1:05's...

Yep ! That's what I was going to say. Depending on how well you can get off the banking you might go with a little higher top. Loved the track, hated the tow !

    Hi Ian,

Last year with FRCCA at NJMP Lightning we used the baseline gearing suggested in this forum for Summit Point except for top gear where we started slightly taller with 25:27's instead of 24:26's. We were still working through some new car issues and can't really comment on gears 1-3, but we did find the 25:27 too short for the front straight and ended up going with 23:24 (our next available gear).
