Talk to Court Dowis about FMs at those tracks

Talk to Stan Clayton at Stohr.
I had an adapter made that screws on the end. steel so the magnet would attach. 3.00" DIA by 0.75" thick. Threads are 3/4-16 UNF
The Fuel Safe cell in my Stohr had a soft side surge tank in the center of the cell. Fuel from the inlet poured into this surge tank and went over the top of it when the surge tank got full. There...
I have a 3/8 Schrader valve in a fitting in the pressured fuel line exiting the fuel pressure regulator. I just attach a valve and hose to the schrader and turn on the main power. The car has a...
The Fuel Safe cells seem to have gone the route of planned failure around 5 years. They used to last for many years.
If you are running in SCCA or with any organization that copies the SCCA...
My Flatshifter Expert developed a similar problem. Upshifts were not easy to do. I had to revert back to clutching to upshift cleanly. Downshifts were fine. Diagnosing this was two stage. The...
Congrats Clint. I always knew you were fast!
For both P1 and P2, using a Purchase Cost of a new car does not tell the entire story. Many drivers will purchase a used car which can still be competitive Nationally but as we all know it is the...
The dry sump system on the AMAC worked well. An oil pump replaced the stock water pump and an electric water pump was installed. The pan is a Max-Syn.
After that first run-up with the cap off, let it cool down and top it off. Repeat. Also try tilting the car. I always had to go thru the burping routine with my 1993 RX7 a few times. to get all...
Thanx. My memory was faulty. The ports have the stock covers but they are hosed to each other not back into the engine separately. Is that sufficient or do they actually need to be blocked?
In my AMAC with a GSXR 1000 and dry sump configuration, the vent hose from the cover on the engine went into the top (above the static oil level) of the sump tank. There was a vent in the top of the...
In our Regional Road Races, we get a tech card at Registration. The card (proving that you actually registered) is handed to the Scrutineers when you present your logbook/car for inspection to get...
Either way, drilling it out procedure does not change. The max size drill will be less than the ID of the plug hole
I had the same problem with a couple of plugs in a GSXR.
After a lot of discussion with George Dean, the solution was to remove the head and drill the plug out. I used increasing drill sizes to...
Suggest calling them. They keep records on file. The information on your sprockets should be sufficient.
If nothing else, send them one of your used sprockets as a model. The critical...
This is an old topic but I will start it again. Catch 22. Not enough cars in the wings N Things to have 2 run groups but some drivers do not come because of it. Couple that with trying to give...
If you need a pingel, I have one sitting in a box that used to be on my DSR.
Last weekend at Road Atlanta, the car felt like it was running over a rough pebble type surface in the turns. Did not feel smooth and planted. Car did grip but it may have been that I was not...
We have been running TT and PDX at TGPR for many years now. It is too narrow to be a Club Race track. Most of the turns are really not wide enough to allow safe race passing. We do limit passing...
I am also a one man crew. Get a routine down for belting yourself in. Put a checklist together for the pre session things (fuel, torque wheels, tire pressures, check oil and catch tank, etc)
...
A car's annual tech is a 12 month deal but belts can expire during that year. Your logbook should state that when the annual is done (i.e., belts expire after Dec 2014). During the annual tech...
I think it is very possible given that one put a 3 second hurting on a couple of other P2 at Roebling this weekend.
Some cars have a Master Kill Switch, then a general power (ignition) switch, then a fuel pump switch. Start following the wiring back from the fuel pump and see where it goes.
Don't we have a basic issue here? If the track management (RA, Roebling, CMP, etc) run the test day then SCCA has nothing to do with it. Drivers pay the track itself and "suffer" the management.

It seems that most Stewards on a Practice Day will post a FCC or BF more quickly than they will in a race.
But at the same time, it is a Practice Day so why are drivers doing something that...
Looks like T1 was waving a flag (see shot at end of clip). That the other driver was going thru there full tilt deserves some steward action on him. That was just plain STUPID and dangerous.
I have found that the cam lock and the pull up lap belts are much easier to use. If you are the only one getting you strapped in the car and most formula cars are tight confines, then getting...
Good point, Andrew.
F600 got a split start because they asked for it and backed it up by bringing a number of cars to the race.
Putting the FF/FV in the F600 start grouping is a good idea.

Nick Vagner, photos will be available at http://www.stillbandits.com
I am not sure if the photos are up yet but these guys will have them
I will be emailing the race results to all the drivers when I get them from T&S. Any day now.

TVR Race Chair
Sent you an email
Eight F600 signed up for Barber. We will be doing a Split Start for them. Should be fun.
Stongly in favor #12136
A bit of a complicated situation. SEDIV has a pretty full schedule and there is not enough slack in it to easily find another date. The SARRC (our Regional Championship series) has rules about...
We had a Rational at Barber last year and the car counts were lousy. The only weekend we currently have at Barber is Labor Day. I have had a number of National drivers tell me that they would love...
Keith - There is only so much track time in a day and certainly not enough to give each class their own separate race. Hence the race grouping.
We are bringing TT into our double Regional and...
As an AMAC DSR driver, I get to run with the newer DSRs, CSRs and FAs all the time. They have a 8-10 second lap differential and the FAs have a large top speed advantage. Yes it is difficult to see...
All racers have to ask themselves a few questions:
How much disposable income do I have to do this with?
What sort of car am I interested in?
Do I want to compete at the Run-Offs?
Do I want to...
Call Sprocket Specialists?
Chris - is the 600 the same size as the 1000? If so, I have a stock 1000 17 tooth that I could loan you. Drop me a note at farrout@knology.net
I think the track was reformatted in 2006 since I have records on the new configuration starting in 2007. We have been running there for many years.
State came in and said that they were goig to...
The testing was done during a SCCA Time Trial Level 3 Track Trial at TGPR. TGPR is a 1.4 mile motorcycle track located near Anniston AL.
Clint did a 59.801 which was a bit off his record of...
Have you not seen Clint drive one lately? He was dropping 1:30's at the ARRC compared to 1:36 for the FF/CF top drivers?
The Spec Line A cars (AMAC, Cheetah, LeGrand, etc) can be had for ~$20K or less. About the cost of a used SRF but definitely quicker. SPec line A cars are probably 8-10 seconds a lap slower than a...
Jay - That is fantastic looking. Hope you bring it to TGPR this April for a little track time.
Glenn/Steve - It could be bad intel but the comments came from people from that area associated with the event. Did not get names, sorry. I asked directly about bringing an RV as my tow vehicle to...
It was mentioned in last night's TTAC meeting that motels in the Austin area are filling up fast since there is also a large music concert scheduled for that weekend. We were advised to get a motel...
