LEADING EDGE GRAND PRIX PUTS ITS PLANS TO CONTINUE IN F4 UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP ON HOLD
After lengthy conversations with SCCA Pro Racing President Mike Collins and Vice President Steve Oseth, Leading Edge Grand Prix has decided to suspend its plans to continue participation in the F4 United States Championship. Leading Edge Grand Prix sold its 2016 F4 cars and F4 support equipment preceeding the final event of the 2016 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway to the owner of Global Racing Group with plans to purchase new cars and updated equipment for the 2017 season. Leading Edge Grand Prix did not sell the "Team" or its points, just cars and support equipment. In fact, it was Leading Edge Grand Prix that paid (out of the proceeds of the sale) for the Leading Edge contracted crew to be at the final event manning the operation as well as the entry fees, tires, fuel, airfare, hotels, etc. However, the entry was made under the Global Racing Group name without our knowledge. SCCA Pro Racing took it upon themselves to consider the sale of our cars and equipment to mean we sold the entire Team. Clearly, this is not the case. But, in doing so, SCCA Pro Racing also awarded all of the Team points we garnered throughout the season (we were leading in Team Points going into the final event) to Global Racing Group and removed our listing on the F4 website as a 2016 team. This is unacceptable and unheard of in the world of motorsport. We therefore cannot in good conscious continue participation with a Series that has total disregard for the time and expense that we put into operating a race winning, front running Team. Further participation in F4 if any will be predicated by the demand from drivers who want us to provide them with our proven race-winning services.
they need a proofreader...
"In 2017, we have instilled several new items in our race programs,"
well, at least they didn't say distilled.
