    Default Zetec ECU ect

Im not sure of the new Zetec FC rule so pardon my ignorance.

If I was to use a Zetec engine in FC all I have to do is get a SCCA ECU and put in an air restructor?? Is that right or is there more?

If so where can I get these parts from and are they sealed?

    Thanks Mark

Mark- You'll have to check with SCCA about exactly which map is now the official one, but Quicksilver has it. As far as I know the current correct restrictor is 1.275 inches and Quicksilver part number QSRE1275.***

The easiest thing to do is send the ECU to them.

    Mark:

You not only need to have the proper map in the ECU and the restrictor, but you must use the approved fuel/intake system which is specified by part number in the new FC-Zetec rules. You also will need an exhaust manifold that meets the specs. See pages FCS 26-29 in the 2006 GCR for the entire Zetec specification.

    Default Zetec ECU

Mark. I have the proper ECU that you will need. It is being loaded with the SCCA Formula "C" map this week. Call me if interested. Darrell 510-825-2737 or 510-742-8846 Pacific time.

Thanks for the info guys, I wonder how many comp adjustments the SCCA will do to the ECU untill you can run the full blowen pro box? After all that is what it will come down to in a few years. Adding power to the Pinto (cam, oversized pistons, carbs ect.) may come soon, to bump up power to the "PRO" 170 hp, rather than cutting down the Zetec power??

    Mark:

The intent is adjust the map and/or restrictor (most likely just the map) over the next year or two until the two engines are as equal as we can make them. Unless and until there are no more Pintos being run, that is the way things will stay. The explicit premise and promise of the Zetec introduction to FC was that the Pinto would not be forced out.
