    Default Pacific F2000 - June 27th-29th - Laguna Seca - Wow!

Pacific F2000 already has 18 cars committed to this event with 4 others likely.

    Can we get 25?

Come out west for what is going to be an epic event on a classic track and maybe the biggest FC race of the year.

    Monterrey in June-July is fantastic.

It's great to see such a healthy field for the pacific f2000 series.

For curiosities' sake, if you guys run on SCCA Regional weekends, wouldn't it be better for the FC class if you guys organized these events during SCCA Major weekends, instead?

To help the participation count, that SCCA does...

The 4 hour extra tow distance to Thunder hill might have affected that decision.
SFR does the major at Thunder hill due to the substantial cost savings.
Plus, Laguna Seca is a destination track, I'm not sure that's the case with Thunder hill.

I'm still on the fence, a bit concerned about being in the way given I've never run there (beyond being a slow guy). Went down to LA last year and ran it in a simulator, been thinking about buying the virtual track walk.

As they say, sometimes you just have to rip the band-aid off!

The group usually has FF and FV ( 4-CF, FC, FF, FFT, FST, FV, F6 ) not that the FF guys are slow.

It's such a fun iconic track with fewer opportunities each year. Do it.

Default Trevor Russell dominates the 2025 QuarterMaster Classic

Trevor Russell dominates 2025 QuarterMaster Classic

20 cars rolled into Laguna Seca for rounds 3 and 4 of the Pacific F2000 Series and
it turned out to be one for the ages. We had 2 newcomers in California based Rick
Kirchner and Shawn Sarbacker out of Las Vegas driving early model Van Diemens
along with Ken Rozeboom, David Cheng, Nic Coe, Lyn Greenhill and Tommy
Browne making returns after some time away from the series.
The weather was perfect all weekend and having our own race group made things
a bit nicer on the tight and twisty Laguna Seca circuit. Qualifying on Saturday saw
Trevor Russell out of Tucson Arizona pick up one point for pole position and he
would repeat that feat on Sunday morning. His father Mark was also in
attendance driving his newly acquired Van Diemen and he got a front row seat to
watch his son throw down during both days action.
Qualifying one did see a solo incident, a crash in turn 2 with Jim Bryant which saw
the Arizona driver lose a couple corners and afterwards deciding the damage was
a bit too severe so he ended his weekend hopes on the back of the trailer.
Race one was a knife fight in a phonebooth between Trevor and Illinois driver Jase
Petty. The two youngsters went at it tooth and nail with Petty almost getting the
spot on the last green flag lap going past start finish into T2. Unable to make the
pass, the track went yellow for a stopped car on course and that is how it ended
up, with Trevor P1, Petty P2 and Daniel Swanbeck rounding out the podium in P3.
One big surprise was the 9 car of Gary Peterson who qualified P3, by far his best
performance to date, but unfortunately, he spun early and had to work his way
back up, ending in a 6 th place finish.

Race 2 was another clinic put on by the younger of the 2 Russells. Once the green
flag dropped he was off the front into the distance. He garnered a point for pole
and also got the point for fast lap by a scant .03 over Jase Petty in the 24 car,
who’s race was interrupted by a mechanical which put him down the order even
after returning to finish the race.
Swanbeck made it up to P2 for the finish with Hakewill making it onto the final
step of the podium ahead of Troy Shooter, who incidentally ran a loaner DFR
gearbox after his lost a diff Friday.
We had some great battles throughout the field, especially the ones with Nick
Kodenko and Chuck Hulse. Peterson ended up P5, which brings him to P4 in the
points headed to Sonoma. The two Pinto powered cars of Sarbacker and Kirchner
ran solid in race 2, finishing ahead of many Zetec powered cars. It was also great
    to see Paul MacFarlane
Another highlight of the weekend was the free random giveaways. The series
gave out three sets of Hoosiers, one set donated by Silicon Salvage, the first going
to Ken Rozeboom, Jase Petty got the second set and John Fabijanic got the third.
The series also gave out 3 complete QuarterMaster clutch assemblies, a bunch of
discs, clutch parts courtesy of The Gear Daddies, cases of Detail Gurus car care
products, Fast Forward racing components, a VIP experience to Angels baseball
from Duncan Industries, Speed Seat Factory discount coupons and shirts,
Buttonwillow Raceway helped with the tires and Primus Racing as usual added to
the giveaway haul. Series admin Angela had her hands full giving out all the
product as it seemed to just keep flowing!
Speaking of Primus Racing Parts, it was great to have Brad Baytos of Primus make
it out to the event. He’s been a huge supporter for years and his continued
    support is always welcomed.
As always, a huge thank you to the drivers, crews and families who made the trek
out and to our generous sponsors who make it all happen. On to Sonoma August
    30!
