    Default helmet experiences

Well its the end of the line next year for my old POS Zamp, and I've started shopping early as both of my shields are cracked and I'm tired of printing and gluing shield savers. Narrowed it down to three, and I was wondering what experiences people have had with these such as fogging, shield durability, buffeting, general ventilation, etc:

    Pyrotect Pro Air Flow

    HJC H70

I bought one of these from Speedway to have as a backup and keep in the trailer. A Stilo is my main helmet. In comparison the Stilo does fit a bit more snug and it should. At the time of ordering there were a few measurements that had to be taken of my head and the size of padding the helmet is shipped with was adjusted due to my measurements. Both of them are comfortable for the shape of my head.

The Speedway helmet has much better visibility when looking down in the cockpit while latching up my safety harness. I also find that this Speedway helmet seems to breath a bit better and the cost of replacement visors is a fraction of the Stilo visors to replace. I like and dislike both of the helmets I have for different reasons. But, I end up wearing this Speedway one probably about 30% of the time just because I can, and I feel like wearing something 'different'

Not sure who the manufacturer of this helmet is for Speedway. But, I'm pretty sure you can look around online and do some comparisons.

holy cow that's cheap. Yeah, I've seen that design elsewhere. and it doesn't have a duckbill. I'm trying to stay away from duckbills.

    Default Try before you buy

I'd highly recommend if you're within driving distance of a dealer to go and try on every helmet you can. One model helmet from HJC may fit completely different than another HJC, a medium from Bell may feel totally different than a medium from Stilo, even the carbon and non-carbon versions of the same helmet can be different.

As far as fog goes, I'd recommend a dual-pane visor. I just glanced but I don't see that any of your picks have that.

I have switched to Pyrotech hemets . Good fit, very much like Bell and a easy visor service. They have Anti Fog visors available.
Optional pads for cheeks also help with fit
Good company, I use their fuel cells and FIA belts

We used to have a good Simpson store in LA - Bought my last pair of shoes there - now closed. Parker Pumper had a big place in Riverside - extremely downsized. There's Sube Sports and Stand 21 but that's all top-end stuff. And a new place just opened get this - in BelAir.....must be for the local POC!

Well that's good to know, because I have a Simpson head more than a Bell head. All of 'em are a hundred miles as the crow flies. I just bought a set of their FIA belts that took a very long time, so I'm kinda on a first name basis with those guys now. They're going to take them back and sew the attachments on next week as well as trim a lot of excess material away.

I think the Buttonwillow store carries HJC but it hasn't been open the last three events I've been to there.
