1970 MACON MR8 Formula Ford Chassis 102.
Restored as best as possible to 1600 Specifications.
Correct MACON body work purchased and sent over from Peter at PA Motorsport in England. It was used with tinted windscreen and new decals. Other period correct decals were added.
1.6 litre iron block 711 motor rebuilt by Sam Nelson of Nelson Engines US in 2016?. All to meet 1600 specs. Runs on 93 Octane. Weber carb, K & N filter, proper throttle linkage and Dyno'd at 126HP. Smiths gauges, MOMO wheel, standard seat, Lifeline fire bottle out of date, Sparco belts out of date, New fuel cell to be installed, Saldana radiator (water is cooled through the chassis), Koni Series 30 steel dampers, Intrstate battery mounted under the seat, Avon tyres on Dunlop rims and proper FF jack. Hewland Mk7 with 4 forward gears and 1 reverse. Refurbished by 2 British guys near Lake Norman...I forget the names. Can not recall the gear set numbers...sorry I'm looking.
Raced at Lime Rock, VIR, Road Atlanta.
Have Log books and paperwork/receipts.
Spares as non MACON bodywork, Dunlop tyres and Dunlop rims not mounted, K&N air filter and replaced parts.
The car was last started January 2020 and raced the year before. Then Covid hit and then divorce then college funding and forced retirement now.
It needs the carb cleaned, fuel cell installed, fire bottle, belts, battery charged.
Car is located in Buford, Georgia where I am not unfortunately.
