Same here, or was. As I refurbish my car I realized my fire bottle was way out of date. I wanted something smaller but the price was pretty steep so I ended up with the same thing at just under $500, available from a variety of vendors.

I think you can get that in an electric activation as well...

    Take a look at this:

    SPA 17.2 system

This is from Pegasus but you can get it from other companies.

Not too expensive and uses NOVEC so no worries about freezing.

I think SPA is now owned by Lifeline - the SPA bottle is the same size as the old Lifeline.

Most SCCA regions will allow bottles if you weigh them and have pressure.

Before my annual I weigh and take of picture of it on the scale.

I set one off accidentally and had it recharged by Stable Energies in NJ.

I did buy one of my bottles from them (they had to special order) and they did a recharge and recertify for around $130.

    They also recertify HANS.

When I restored my Anson I needed to replace mine too. Electrical is what drives the price up. I ended up with the $1200 lifeline system. I really found nothing else I thought could work. It did come with everything needed for a complete install. Tubing, fittings, switches and control box. Good luck.

We did the SPA FIA 2.25 Kg electric for a vintage Atlantic. The Lifeline looks like a good option, similar look to the old bottles.
