Default How to download data from F4?

I am trying to download data from our F4 car (2016 car). I downloaded the GEMS software but believe I need to also download a GIN file? However there are multiple GIN files to choose from. When I try to connect to my car it says ECU not found. Does anybody have a link or a quick start guide? I checked on the GEMS website and read some Ligier information but have had no luck.
    Thanks

Maybe a stupid question but do you have the ign on and ecu powered up when trying to connect?

No stupid questions. But yes the power to the car is on. The software is just not detecting my ECU.

I am unfamiliar with what the ECU plug on the F4 looks like. But, on the FE2 it is kind of a square plug that looks similar to what may be on the back of a printer. The cord needed to plug into the ECU on the FE2 may look like common printer cord, but it is not. I purchased the cord from Enterprises, but then had to get an adapter to go into my computer. This adapter from Amazon is what I had to get and some people that are more 'tech knowledgable' can chime in on this. But, are you sure you are using the right type of cord to be able to plug into the ECU?
