1986 Swift DB2 Sports 2000 Chassis Number 01186
$28,000 includes the following.
When obtained the car had mostly factory original parts even though it had more than 50 races recorded in the log books.
Since it was very original, the restoration was done to maintain its "as it left the factory" state for vintage racing.
Full tub rebuild performed including new floor pan and new structural parts as needed. All aluminum fabrication done by Paul Traver.
Any panel touched was cleaned and bonded using Loctite Hysol epoxy and aircraft rivets.
Original fuel cell was refurbished and re-certified by Aero Tech.
All fasteners replaced the proper AN/NAS/MS components (really, all of them including the hard to find MS20074 bolts)
All rod ends, spherical bearings, rocker arm bearing and sway bar bearings replaced.
Original Fox shocks rebuilt and dynoed by Neil Porter, spherical bearings replaced.
Uprights rebuilt by Doug Learned including Fast Forward rear hubs, gun drilled axles, lightened CV joints and aero boots.
New Fast Forward rear beams.
New and rebuilt AP master cylinders.
New Wilwood WLD20 alloy calipers.
New hydraulic plumbing with AeroFlow Performance quick release fittings on rear brakes and clutch.
Rebuilt clutch slave
Fully rewired
New forward bodywork by Motorsports Composites, refurbished tail section. All in ready to paint condition.
TRS Harness good through 2026.
Car is prep'ed and ready for installation laps. I was planning on racing it in October '24 and threw out my back loading the car in the trailer.
Engine:
Approximately 10 hours since last refresh. The refresh was done by an unknown builder. I had the engine partially disassembled to determine it's current state.
It appears that was a proper refresh with new Ford racing pistons, Crower Rods, standard size crank, proper cam and new Ivey valve springs.
I performed a leak down prior to it's first on-track session, all cylinders where 97-99%.
I replaced the carburetor with a new Ivey unit prior to the last event I ran due to the original's idle circuit not always working properly.
Gearbox:
I replaced the severely worn original gearbox with a Taylor rebuilt gearbox that now has approximately 10 hours on it. It is set up with M class gears for Sears Point Raceway.
Mods:
Elite Fab and Machine Front rocker arm braking stabilizer bars
Elite Fab and Machine Shifter/Tub clearance modification, check out the picture.
Tall man roll bar.
Relocated the battery to the "passenger" compartment.
AIM Evo 4s data acquisition with GPS08. Sensors included: 4 wheel speed, front brake pressure, steering angle, Engine RPM, Oil pressure, Oil temperature and Water temperature.
The car is currently set up for Vintage racing using the analog gauges. An AIM GS dash or AIM SW3 steering wheel can be supplied for additional cost.
