    Default Kent dipstick tube sealing

    Kent Dipstick tub blocking

Sorry if it's been posted already - but curious on a Kent 1.6 block that still has the factory dip stick tube, are you removing it from top and drilling the tapping and blocking on the top surface ? or on the bottom block hole ?

Are these press fitted in or o-ring ?

    Thanks

    Don

    press fit

I've only ever seen them plugged from the top, can't see it really matters

I'd hesitate to plug it with JBWeld or similar on a built motor, for not knowing if any fell into the sump.
(no, I don't say that from experience LOL)

A press-fit "T" shaped plug will be fine.

thanx for the replies.... I wasn't near the block when I posted so my brain got me overthinking it last night.

simply tapped out the insert with a long punch, and tapped it with a 1/8" NPT tap and plugged it up.

    All good.
