Default Vintage formula B wheels and tires

Hi. I recently bought a 1968 Forsgrini Formula B. It has Avon 10.5 inch rears. I bought a set of current Avon Formula B tires but they are 12 inches wide. I am getting conflicting opinions about whether or not these tires will work on these rims. They are 6 lug 10 inches wide, I believe. Haven't been able to locate wider 6 lug wheels as yet. My race car mechanic suggested I just mount one and if there is no crown, I should be good to go. Roger Kraus thinks they should work too. I'm told that the 10.5 inch wide tires are no longer available. I notice that the Hoosier FB rears are all 12 inches wide. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, Bill Pierce

I have a similar issue with my Dulon FB. It came with fancy 3-piece wheels, which aren't period correct (but very nice looking). I've been thinking about getting some new Revolution 1-piece from the UK but I may have missed my window with the tariffs and falling dollar situation. I should have pulled the trigger over the winter when I thought about it!

    Ask Avon, they should know.
