    Default Chinell Ltd Steering Rack

I’m working on a “British Made by Chinell” steering rack.
The rack itself has a lot more teeth than the rack body would be able to use (more travel than possible). This makes me believe the steel rack and pinion almost certainly came out of a production application. My guess would be Spitfire, TR6, etc. The OD of the steel rack is 7/8 inch.

    Anybody actually know?

I assume it's a center shaft model, so not from a production unit

    Yes, I saw that advertisement.

It is a center pinion, but I’m assuming the rack itself has been cut down, possibly from one were the pinion was offset.
