    Default SCAMMER reappeared

When posting a Wanted advert, be aware there is a guy named markusv who will suggest you contact another individual who might have the item you are looking for. This leads to a scam with appropriate pictures and descriptions. All bogus.

When I check his profile it shows he is banned. However, apparently that does not preclude him from sending out private messages to the same effect.

Yep, be aware folks. Example of the email you will get. Here he is offering to sell something shipped for an absurdly low price that actually doesn't cover shipping cost.

"Yes i have a Swift 016 Restrictor Airbox for sale. I am asking $200 shipped. Condition is excellent. I will be shipping via USPS or FedEx STANDARD/GROUND shipping to the 48 contiguous states, I do not ship to P.O. Boxes. Regular shipments will take between 3-5 business days and I will have a tracking number available for you after shipping. Payment via Apple Gift Card via PayPalhttps://www.paypal.com/us/gifts/brands/apple .

    What's your shipping address?"

He was banned yesterday when I was made aware of the problem. He has not been able to participate in these forums in any capacity since then.

He did however send a bunch of PMs prior to the ban, right up until just after noon yesterday.

Sorry for any problems he has caused any of you.

    Thanks,
    KR

Looks like the scammer is still active. I got a PM from jb311 (who has 0 posts) with the exact text mentioned above about giving Wayne a jingle at wcvtgra@outlook.com lol.

Asked for payment via Apple gift card which was the giveaway.

    Careful out there!

Apple gift card should always be a red flag for any online transaction. Scammers love gift cards. Steam cards, whatever those are, are also very popular.

Never use those unless you know exactly who you are dealing with. Same goes for paypal "family and friends". Paypal will not help at all if you use the family/friends option and get scammed.
