    Default Racing in Arizona

    Thanksgiving Racing

Every year the local club organizer in Arizona ( https://proautosports.com/ ) puts on a Thanksgiving event. This years event was held at Podium Club in Casa Grande, Arizona. The Thanksgiving event is unique in that they offer an Enduro race on Sunday for all classes. The formula car session was a 1 hour race. Every car was required to come into pits and have a minimum of 5 minute stop. Formula Ford was the most heavily populated open wheel class at the event.

There is a regional SCCA event in January and a Majors in March. ProAuto has another event in February, and this one is sounding like it will attract a few more winged cars !!

    Default Winter Fun !!

This last weekend some of the Arizona FE2's and FM's gathered to create a challenge for an aspiring young driver at Podium Club. The objective was to create racing situations, present challenges for overtakes, and provide for some cramped space management at race start/turn 1.

Kaylee Countryman will be running in the USF series in 2025, and I will put a link about her below. It was a very fun day and after 2 or 3 sessions we were starting to figure out how to place our cars and where to start her from to accomplish some more challenging scenarios.

As always the track management was receptive and helpful to the open wheel cars for us to accomplish our goals. Also, it provided a little track experience to some who are planning to attend the Majors coming up in a couple weeks at Podium Club. Early morning was a little chilly, but by 09:30 everyone was stripping off layers of clothing. At 14:00 one or two could be seen setting in lawn chairs with sun glasses and scantily clad to absorb some Arizona sun.

Thank you to all who attended and to Podium Club for helping us out !!
