Royale RP 5 FB

SOLD. This is the only Formula B / F 3 car ever built by Royale, styled after the RP 3, but with beefier suspension pieces and reinforced frame to reflect the increased horsepower. The car was raced for a brief time in F3/ Europe by Paul Dalton and Tony Lanfranchi before importation to the US. According to the gentleman I bought it from it was raced by Bill Scott (of Summit Point fame) before it was acquired some thirty years ago. Sat unrestored in his shop in California until I found it. The attached picture is how I got the car.


The following has been done so far, not much more to finish.

Frame stripped, inspected, repaired as needed and powder coated.
Lotus Twin cam, fresh, built with all new steel internals by Bob Adkins. Approx 185 HP.
Hewland MK7.
New bodywork, windscreen, fuel cell, gauges, floor pan.
Suspension stripped, inspected and freshly nickel plated.
Brakes and masters rebuilt.


What it needs to finish:

Wiring, brake lines, oil lines, paint, detail original magnesium wheels. I have front and rear wings but the rear is not the original.

Please, serious only. I have quite a bit of documentation, pics, etc. with history of the car from new. I am asking 35K.

Finally Finished !

I'm converting it to a F5000. Having chopped off the back end once to make it into an FB, I'm a bit less apprehensive than the first time. Plus, the frame is getting extensively redesigned / reinforced with the help of Jon Staudacher ,who knows a thing or two about building race cars.

Will have a Chevy 5 litre engine, and DGB transaxle.

I'm the owner/builder/driver, Jon's offering advice on how to reinforce the frame for the added horsepower. Will be changing out the brakes too.


Jon's been busy building planes. He did just finish a sports racer that he ran once at Waterford this summer.
