It appears to be near Cincinnati, OH.

    Cincinnati, OH area.
Locally on FB Marketplace, price reduced to $7500 - no other pics there.
Roll bar/front braces/front hoop modified from original "bolt in braces" to welded in and bodywork modified to accomodate.
Spare bodywork is NOT modified to work with the revised braces
Needs a cell and hydraulics (as mentioned in ad)
Car came from California, was in Dayton area as a rental ride before current owner purchased it (many) years ago
Car had an "off" at Mid Ohio and it sounds like Pat Prince made some replacement control arms
One rear upright has been repaired/rewelded during his ownership - not at time of accident above.

I spoke to the owner yesterday and was going to stop as I was going through town, but he had just tested Covid positive so we decided another time would be better. Owner is 5'8" fits well, son is in the 6'1"-6'2" range and mentioned his legs were hitting a brace/frame when trying to get feet on pedals (for reference).

I have two GT1 projects, shouldn't be looking, but the shop seems empty w/o another FF sitting around!

Default Help to identify side panels...

Anyone know where this car ended up? I have some questions about the sidepanels... the car has side panels mounted and has "extra" / "different" sides in another picture... any Tiga experts who can identify which is correct? both correct?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hello Mike,

All three 77-78 Tigas local to me have the sidepods that show mounted on the car. Howden Ganley said they were worth 1+ seconds a lap faster than no sidepods.

To add to DanW's comment. My first racecar was a1978 TIGA. The original sidepods as shown in the photos of the car had tunnels built into them. I had to cover the tunnels as they were/are prohibited by the GCR. My understanding was that the prohibition didn't exist when the car was originally designed.

I have found info showing the sides pictured (loose and not on car) are actually 1976 sides...and ones pictured on car are indeed 1977 and assuming 1978 as well.
Anyone have any of the 1977 and up style they would want to sell? Not wanting to hijack this thread and will move/post in general wanted as well

I have a 77 Tiga chassis #21 with the original RAC registered card. Car would have been built in 76 sold Feb 77. Mid 77 is when they changed the side pods and tail to what is on the the car being sold. I had a mould made of the original windshield because none were available. Not a cheap car to restore because no one I know of carries any parts body suspension very expensive to make the mould for the nose.
First thing that needs to be change to vw cv's is the Austin cv's and wheel hub assembly because the hub runs on outer wheel bearing which causes it to flex and shear off the axle nut allowing the hub and wheel to depart not fun when it happens.
When restored they are great cars.

    Alan,
I know a guy who has a 76/77 Tiga nose mold and a pair of 76 Tiga side pod molds. (like the spares in the ad)
