1978 Lola T492 Historic Sports Racer + Large spare package
This 1978 Lola T492 HU48 is said to have been imported to the US in the late 1970s and was campaigned in the West coast region. The car was acquired by the seller in 2019 and subsequently refurbished with work consisting of repainting the body, installing a new engine, new transaxle, and overhauling the brakes, suspension, and chassis. The car is finished in Porsche GT3 Silver/orange and is powered by a Ford Pinto 2.0L inline-four paired with a Hewland five-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential. This T492 is offered in California with SCCA and NASA logbooks, partial service records, set-up documents, and a bill of sale.

The braking system was refurbished and upgraded with vented rotors, wilwood master cylinder, Wilwood 4 pot front and LD20 rear aluminum calipers, brake lines, and Hawk Blue pads. Koni double-adjustable aluminum-body shocks and Eibach springs are installed, and the suspension components are said to have been nickel plated and cracked tested. The front and rear uprights were painted, and the stub axles were media blasted and magna fluxed.
The right-hand-drive cockpit features an integrated roll bar, a Leather wrapped racing seat for tall drivers, and a Safecraft six-point safety harness. Additional features include a nickel-plated pedal box and a fire system which was recently replaced.
The three-spoke momo steering wheel wears a suede wrap and frames an 8k-rpm auto meter tachometer and racetech auxiliary gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The wiring, fuse box, and switchgear were replaced during the refurbishment.
