Default 1995 Van Diemen for sale

Shop is getting full with too many cars so something has to go. Great starter or trackday car! These are one of the best Van Diemen cars ever built. The VD RF-95 was stripped to a bare frame when we got it, crack checked, top tubes widened for more shoulder room and powdercoated. Bodywork is in orange gelcoat. Aim Data & ChaseCam Video system, Penskes, Hyperco springs, All new AN hardware and rod ends, all new suspension arms and pushrods. rewired and replumbed. Cockpit adjustable front and rear sway bars, OZ wheels, Stainless exhaust. As you can see the from the pictures motor is not a stock Pinto. it is a Quicksilver long rod Pinto with a Fast Forward Aluminum head and dual Weber side draft carbs. We built the engine with Sandy before the current Pinto update rules. The idea was we wanted to create a long life Pinto with a bit more horsepower that didn't need constant rebuilding. The engine has only dyno time and one regional weekend on it. There are some spares available for negotiation. The car was one of only four FC's actually sponsored by Sidney Frank Importing Inc., the North American Jagermeister importer. Car only is $16,500. PM me for info. Car has been sold and gone to Canada....

What would it take to make the engine legal for FC? Is it just the manifold and carburetor setup that would need to be replaced?

I don't know since the rules have changed since it was built and internals that weren't legal then are now.

For a real answer you would have to ask Quicksilver their opinion.

Perfect, I just tried to send you a private message but it says your inbox is full and can't receive any new messages. I'm just in Southern Ontario and would like to come see it. If you can clear some messages, or message me I'm quite interested

Possibly a silly question, however I find the rules confusing. What vintage class would this race in? My apologies if this is an easy answer. I have been reading the rules, it gets a little confusing.

In VARAC I believe it would run in Formula Classic, but would make an excellent FLibre car as well.

Show up with this. Pay the entry fee. The Vintage or regional group you go for will find a spot for this car. And why not? This is a good example of a car that should be up and running, somewhere. God knows how many garage 'coat racks' like this are sitting idle. To heck with 'period correct' and all that. The $100k crowd can fuss and fret over that.

A ton of fun on a beer budget. KR.
