    Default Kent Cam Lobes

My Kent has an FFI cam purchased from Pegasus and when doing some motor work this winter I measured the lobe lift. Intake varied from .226 to .228 while the exhaust varied from .213 to .216. The intakes are below spec by 5-7 mil which was correctable by ratioing the rockers. But the exhausts are 18-21 mil under and it didn't look like I could correct that with the rockers.(maybe I could but I didn't try)
Is this undersizing of the exhaust lobes intentional? Since the GCR shows the lift as a maximum did some clever builder discover that less lift was better for high RPM? Is it worth replacing? The motor seems to lack top-end and I'm investigating several causes.

    Thanks,

Well, it would seem to me if the lift is not high enough top end would suffer.

    Chip-

recent digital engine simulation work suggests exhaust lift & timing are extremely important to top end power. suggest you contact Dema at Elgin Cams about one of his blueprinted SCCA FFord compliant cams.
