Update
I watched the FX race at Sebring. on Saturday. There were 3 FX cars entered. The winner, rather than being a backmarker in the FA class, won the race with a best time about 15 seconds per lap slower than the FA winner, and 10 seconds slower than the FC winner.
Interestingly, had the 3 ex-USF cars been in FC, then FC would have had 16 entries toward their National Class entry count instead of 10. I cannot say that watching the event was improved (or hurt) in any way by adding/subtracting classes. Without looking at the results, the FX cars were indistinguishable from the FC cars.
According to the results, there was one PX car. Jacek parked his P1 car to run some ASR car in PX.
Several conclusions.
FX is unnecessary
FC should include the ex USF cars.
Whatever the real SCCA agenda is, it is not taking care of current SCCA racers.
The Formula Alphabet and SR race group is still a messy race group with significant carnage and hostility between classes.
I eagerly await the positive spin presented by the SCCA cheerleaders.![]()
