Lola. T340 front upright weld question

Just stripped my front uprights, both have similar welder modifications to take the callipers, is this correct ?

According to the Lola T340 spec sheet on Lola heritage site, the original calipers were CP2398. Could the mods be to accommodate different caliper mounting bolt spacing?

That's very likely. The uprights appear to be VW type 3. The VW uprights used metric Varga calipers.

Thanks, understood, has anyone else found this detail? My callipers are as follows, they are a Triumph motorbike part.

Those are LD19 (CP2505) calipers - very common FF caliper and uses the same castings as those fitted to some Triumph T140/150 motorcycles. The only difference is that the LD19 has a threaded hole in the body casting behind one piston for the hose. The Triumph variant has the hose connection at one end of the caliper next to the bleed.

Lola used the same front end components as on their superVee but without the strict requirements for all VW parts. In fact a large part of the car used the same components as the SuperVee. That is why they only have one fuel cell on one side of the car. The SuperVee used two cells. The smaller calipers help compensate for the extra weight of the VW Upright and hub.
