One of the transmissions has a big L stamped by the bell so it maybe a long box.

There is often a L stamped in transmissions. This is a factory mark and looks like it was created with many small dots on the top side of the case near the rib.
The best way to tell if you have a short box is to turn the transmission over and remove the drain plugs. You can then count the teeth on the main gear in the front plug window and check the third gear in the back plug window.

A long box has 33 teeth on the main gear.
    A short box has 35.

The 1.22 third gear almost always has a groove in the middle of it and I am pretty sure has 29 teeth.

The best way to count the teeth is to reach in there with a paint marker and mark one tooth and then count your way around while spinning the axle.
