I've seen pictures of trailer with tires stored flat against the wall instead of on a typical tire rack.
Are those all home made solutions or does anyone sell those?

The tires for my FA were so big , that's the way I did it. I built my own simple fold up racks with flat bottoms and used a couple eye bolts screwed into the wall and a tie down strap to hold em tight. 2 fronts on one side , 2 rears on the other.Worked great.
God is my pilot, I'm just the loose nut behind the wheel !
I built my own and referred to them as "tire shelves". You can see a picture of them in post #17 in this thread:

Our original trailer had them. They were custom made solid aluminum posts to the correct offset for fronts and rears.

Thanks for the ideas.
Yes, space is the reason. I'd like to eventually build a stacker so I'll need side clearance.
I made a few sets for myself & others on this board. Might give you a few ideas. There was a bit of machining so that the wheel sat firm on the mount.

Someone just needs to copy this pit-pal design. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...asp?RecID=6377
Maybe a group buy or something... I know a good fabricator.
What you want are made by a company named Pit Products, not Pit Pal. Individual tire or wheel brackets, for $29.95 ea. I have 3 mounted on the wall of my trailer. Here is the only problem. My rain tires/wheels fit just fine but my panasports/drys have a center hole that's just a little too small ( I have 13" rims ) and will not work. If you are hanging tires alone, without wheels these things are wonderful. You can put a half dozen all over the walls of your trailer.

I like the large back plate that will run up and down the trailer rib/stud. However the post which holds the tire are just a welded in angled piece. Not a straight piece in which you can fasten the tire in, via a pin or a threaded device. I have had a few things fall from the walls of my trailer and its never a pretty scenario. But for 1/6 the price of pit-pal I am sure I can approve on that product on my own.
Thanks for the lead!!!!
I used two eight footers by Pit Products in my old trailer. When setup for my Stohr Wf1 The had 4-6" space away from the wall. Was able to use OEM screw holes in the exterior to go right thru to the inside. You will notice I used the front four feet of each rack for bin storage. I had the ceiling height.... and I am short. So. I was lucky enough I had the room to use traditional racks. Lack of space and storage required it - Was an LQ trailer with short cargo space.
My buddy cut the width down on his so they didn't stick out from the wall so far.
Good Luck!
Have you thought about e track on either side of the trailer with aluminum beams going across the width of the trailer to store your tires? Takes up very little wall space and utilizes the space in the middle of the trailer that is usually wasted. I have two sets of two aluminum beams, one holds my tires the other holds a bunch of plastic storage bins.
I second Andy- I set up a pair of shoring beams with E track across the trailer ( https://www.shipperssupplies.com/alu...oring-beam-102 ) and could usually put two sets of F2000 tires and then some on a singe pair.

A simple and inexpensive solution is to mount E-Track on the wall and weld the appropriate length and size bolt to an E-Track clip. and mount the tire with the correct size washer and lock nut.

That's what I'm thinking through at the moment.
https://www.amazon.com/Enclosed-Comp...ds=tire+holder
or similar things like:
https://trailerparts.com/spare-tire-...less-rims.html
http://www.flaman.com/parts/index.ph...re-holder.html
But I keep going back to the 'bucket' idea:
http://cargopal.com/store/?model_num...older_050912B1
The reasons are:
Less hassle than 'fastening' something through the middle.
You could store a tire no wheel.
You could store a bagged tire.
Cost - gotta find cheaper buckets!
Essentially I think I'm looking for a tire size version of this:

I have a set of the flat tire racks I purchased here on apex that I can no longer use. Pm me if interested.

I used this simple piece for my trailers' spare tire, against the inside wall, albeit with the floor taking the weight.
And you can get a dozen of them for the cost of a single Pegasus version .... :-)
I use these too (or similar solution - the utility version) for my trailer spares (2 spare tires in my trailers) - in my past two bigger trailers. I mount them near the rear door with the rubber on the floor, replaced the bolts with ones that were appropriate for my offset and added threaded "t-handles" to allow for easy quick removal (amazon or your local hardware store).
I am too cautious to trust them at an elevated level with race tires.
Best of luck
