The whole pro racing thing is a joke, it's simply nothing more than the clowns paying Barnum to let them put on a show in an empty tent. The club should vote once and for all to divest itself of this albatross. Let it stand on it's own like any other business or it should simply go away all together. If the CEO had no idea where his wife happened upon 4.5 million or so dollars, he certainly has NO business running any business.....

Who would have thought the guy prepping cars in a class that made national infamy a couple years ago for having most of the top finishers thrown out of the Runoffs for cheating would be involved in something illegal?

Or am I jumping to conclusions just because the list of illicitly obtained items included a race car and hauler?

I think it is a big stretch to go from illegal valve grinds to embezzling over $4 million dollars. But, he had to have known.

Also, $90k worth of steak? That sounds amazing.

While enjoying this banquet of schadenfreude (it’s OK – I had to look up the spelling), save room for a small side dish of compassion.

I do not have any more facts than what I glean from the DOJ announcement. However, adults make choices and decisions and then own the outcome. I am certain that the mills of the DOJ and IRS will grind very fine, indeed.

At the same time, recognize that this is a very human tragedy. There is an extended family, including some young and vulnerable children, from under whom the ground has suddenly disappeared. There will be ample suffering for guilty and innocent alike.

I am familiar enough with life’s vicissitudes and (my own) very human frailties that I try not to render judgment in advance of having all the facts.

I tend to stay away from anything named or called Meathead. It's worked out pretty well so far!
