Think you guys will get a kick out of this. Trying to take on an f1000 at Blackhawk Farms with my FM. Point of view from f1000. https://youtu.be/u4SwDMBSJlI

Nice run. Looks like you have a bit too much air pressure in that left front tire. You can see the crown and the darker black stripe down it while running.
I'm driving the white mazda. Kind of an interesting comparison of the two cars. The f1000 is light years ahead in every category to my fm. Unfortunately we end up being classed the same because Midwestern council does not have an fm class. They tell me if i can get at least 3 cars to show up and race often they'd make a fm class.
Yup... well tell your bud in the F1000 car!
At a track like Blackhawk, a FB should be within 1 second of the FA track record on a good day. It may be possible for a really good FB to maybe better FA lap record.
FM and FE are close in lap times. FC should be a bit quicker than either FE or FM. FF would be about the same gap to FE/FM as FE/FM are to FC.
I don't see how the camera car passes the broomstick test.....the front roll hoop looks too low.

Based on the lap time shown on the dash of the FB car, the pace he was lapping is a good 10 seconds per lap from the FB track record. When I ran my FB at Blackhawk it was quite easy to pass a pack of three or four FM cars just on the front straight alone. I don't think this video represents a fair comparison between a FB to FM at all.
Now this isn't scientific by any means and once he got around my fm his lap times dropped by 5 seconds or so. Just thought it's an interesting video. Im about 5-6 seconds off fm lap record usually which i don't think is too bad for a home setup car on 50%/2 year old take offs. With a good tire i think i can get another couple seconds out of it.
These were the qualifying times for that event.
Blackhawk Farms SCCA track records:
FA Tonis Kasemets – Swift 014 – CHI – 05/06/2007 0:01:02.775
FB Lawrence Loshak – JDR F1000 – Milw – 05/05//2013 0:01:05.154
FC Niki Coello – Van Diemen RF 01 – MILW – 05/17/2009 0:01:07.016
FE Scott Rettich – Ford FE – OVR – 05/04/2014 0:01:07.847
FF Anthony Coello – Van Diemen RF01/2 – MILW – 05/18/2008 0:01:11.553

FS Jim Smalley – Star Mazda – DET – 05/16/2010 0:01:15.700
IIRC Jamie Bach was running ALMS in the next year or so in the BK motorsports Mazda/Lola
I qualified with a 1:11 in this event but my fastest race lap was a low 1:10. I believe the fastest I have ever gone was a low 1:09 in my 06 Carbir DS3.
Dimitri don't worry about lap times just yet, your pretty new and still getting use to this. So far I think you are doing a really good job and definitely earning the trust of other drivers that run with MC.
Because racecar...
Skip the timing and learn the line at BHF.

Note for my Safety Chief who straps me in (my wife): Double check my arm restraints!
I was really distracted watching the FB drivers arm restraints flopping around his wrists and interfering with the steering wheel.
