Default Aim solo & software questions

I received a SOLO for Christmas. Using it for the first time next weekend. Since AIM is closed today, I am reaching out to anybody that may have the answers to the questions below:

    1. I have the plain SOLO, not the SOLO DL, Only the DL version is shown in the Race Studio Software. Will I have any issues?

    2. The booklet that was supplied with the units states that I must go to the start finish line with the SOLO before the race to tell it where the line is located, or do it through the software. I don't see Palm Beach in the Race Studio 2 Software, in fact the only tracks visible are a few European ones. How is this done through the software?

    Thanks,
    Bob

    1. Yes, it will be fine. That's the version I've been using for several years.

    2. You need to use GPS Manager to set the tracks. Palm Beach is in there. Download it here: http://www.aim-sportline.com/eng/download/software.htm

    Hope this helps!

Just to help clear this up. There is no regular Solo in RS2 because there is nothing to setup.

You use GPS Manager to setup the tracks in the Solo. If you don't do that, you can use the onboard setup to mark start/finish, just be careful not to put in two points. Also, anytime you have the unit on and are moving, it records, so even if you don't have start finish, it will record data. You can use the GPS lap insert feature to add start/finish afterwords in RS2 Analysis.
