    Default SVRA licensing

I am trying to gather information on what I need to do to get licensed to do the SVRA race at COTA in November. I emailed 'Alex" the national license guy over a week ago, no reply back as of yet. Does anyone here have any idea of whom to contact? I'm sure that my credentials are above their minimum, but I am wanting to get this done well in advance, just in case there is something I need to do Ie: additional physical form, etc.

Rick Kirchner, should I just do VARA and tow there? I didn't realize that SVRA was so exclusive that emails of inquiry asking about bringing 4-5 Vintage legal 70s FFs would fall on deaf ears...

I, and a few others that have read the rules, would like to race our Iron head , non canister shock Crossles with SVRA. If the race entry is full, a reply to that effect would be welcomed.

I am also in the market for a 510 with some history, as I can split the travel costs, and race two cars.....I just cannot seem to get anyone to correspond with me regarding licensing requirements. Yes, I read the website, and comply, but I would like to speak with some one before just sending them 200.00

    Regards,

    Marshall--

Although SVRA has been going through some growing pains and communication glitches with its greatly expanded operations since Tony Parella took the helm a couple of years ago, he is making it a great organization to race with. They have been melding together several regional clubs with different rules and traditions, and it will take time to smoothly accomplish the unification.

I have raced my Club Ford with them at four events in the past year, including Indy and the season-ender at COTA), none of which has required an SVRA license (if you have a vintage license from another organization, at least). You will love racing at COTA, and I will be there again, too.

You might try contacting Tony's Director of Services, Kathy Swinford, at kathy@svra.com or (817) 521-5158. She is a wonderfully helpful and responsive person. She will make sure you are taken care of.

    Charlie,
Thank you my friend. As stated earlier, I want to get my eligibility in order soon, as I am basically using the races here as test days in preparation for the big show in November. I hope you and yours are well. Would it be okay to mention your name when I contact Kathy?

    Regards,
    Marshall

Feel free to use my name, but I think she is wonderful to everyone from the first moment, regardless of who you know.

Charlie covered it. If you have a VARA license SVRA will honor it (as well as a VMC license). There's usually an extra charge for not being a member of the specific club you are racing with.

Kathy Swinford is the person to contact as Charlie indicated.

There's a VARA guy with an immaculate 510 for sale. I think it''s on their Facebook page. It's the orange and white one.

Not hard to do. Contact Kathy and if you'll send me your email, I'll get Ray Snowdon (Competition Director) to follow right up with you. No special handshake or medical required!
