I believe there may have been an issue with the cars overall height per Table 5 Item 'C' which limit it to 90cm.Doug
Yes we were high on the right side only by about 5mm.
It took multiple measurements w me in the car and about 3 hours held captive in tech!
An increase in rear ride height resulted in the discrepancy.
A belt sander and 3 minutes fixed it.
This Saturday Morning, we all awoke to the track being shrouded in a thick fog.
You could not see from corner to corner.
Espically bad up at the corkscrew. About a 2 hour delay. It is a clearing trend.
Being located very close to Monterey Bay & The Pacifric ocean, this can be a possibility here at laguna Seca.
All racing is delayed & except for a few hard ship lap cars doing solo runs, racing is delayed for a while till it lifts.
Stand by for further reports. I would guess it will clear enough to race soon after 10:20 am. Workers are bing deployed to corners, so start will be soon.
Not sure how SCCA will alter the schedule or move things around to accomidate this delay as the track has certain sound regulations that must be complied with unless they got an exemption.
They say they will not shorten any races.
Wait & see is all we can do now.

Fog delay over.
Cars on track now.

Anyone having problems getting the live coverage to start?
I've had best luck with thus URL in Internet Explorer (not Firefox): http://scca.growsites.net/event_sess...ideo_only=true
Note, that link is for the video/audio only. Does not include the live timing.

Thanks Russ. For some reason on firefox. Nothing was showing live. Only on demand.
Just clicked on the link - live coverage immediately with firefox.
Congrats to JR for a dominant win!
Congratulations JR!
It's great to see things finally come together for him in FB.
Congratulations, JR. Great race by all of the FB guys.

Congrats J.R from all of us over at the DSR forum. Great drive !
Mike
great job with the new car
Jeremy 2nd fastest ... hmm... looks like he used first part of the race to find the way around the still new track to him
Congrats Bud, it's been a long road.

JR about to take his victory lap
My two fast laps in Q3, had a good one going until the shock cover blew off. Scared the hell out of me. Hit my helmet and on its way out the back and took out the upper rear wing.
Fortunately it ended up floating down like a leaf and went over the outside wall.

Gary, It was great to finally meet you in person. Congrats on your podium. You ran like a beast the whole week, a true contender for the top step. That Phoenix is badass.
Hey, not to forget Alex Mayer. Congrats on a well deserved podium. You ran great all year. I wasn't surprised for one second that you were fighting for the win. Everyone better watch out for you next year kid!

Thanks JP, great to meet you and hope to see you at Daytona next year.
I'd like to take this time to publicly thank some folks that make this class so great.
Jeremy Hill for thinking outside the box to stick a bike engine in a FC, the father of FB (F1000). Jeremy is a cool dude and wicked fast.
Mike Beauchamp for being one of the originators of the rules. Without Mikes vision to put all this together along with organizing such a great series I doubt FB would have progressed to where it is now. He does this on his own time without any compensation. All the F1000 drivers owe him a debt of gratitude.
Nicholas Belling and Thomas Copeland for keeping the West Coast Series alive. They do this for the love of the class.
Tony Moore my mechanic, engineer, and top notch fabricator. Tony has been crewing for me since my Atlantic days in the early 80's.
Dustin Wright for designing such a fantastic car that can make an old man like me fast.
Thanks to all the competitors that share the same passion for F1000 that I originally saw back in 2007.
Thanks to all the sponsors, Hoosier Tire, Taylor Race Engineering, Replay Camera, Hyperco, Sprocket Specialties....I know there are others I'm forgetting.
Congrats to Alex Mayer and of course JRO. Chasing JR around has kept me focused all year. I hope you are back next season.

Thanks for the video.
It seems like a unfortunate camera mounting - too low, picks up too much of Jeremy's helmet. I kept moving my head to the right to try to 'look around' him to see the left part of the car / road.
Thanks for sharing
Terry
Camera shows mirror reflections well!
Thanks Mike

With Jose's permission, I edited his front facing and rear facing cameras together for this video of #14 FB.

From another post: "It was a long week at the 2014 SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Laguna Seca - suspension binding issues, unavoidable contact in Q2 removing a rear corner/damaging the rear wing and a dead rear shock led us to qualify back in 12th. The days before the race were filled with thrashing on the car and running various calculations/simulations to get the car setup and race-ready. The hard work paid off - we went from 12th to 4th in two laps, and set one of the fastest laps of the race.
Unfortunately, rear contact in T2 on lap 2 almost spun Jose into Jeremy, and made the car harder to handle, and we hit the inside curb on T6, ending our race in spectacular fashion. Jose is A-OK besides a bit of disappointment in not finishing the race."

Interesting video. Aggressive, impressive first few laps.
I guess the red curbs aren't so smooth. Ouch.

This Video brought to you by the makers of the HANS device!
Jose was on fire but the "Silent Red Policeman" caught up to him. They're brutal.

Are people really spinning their engines to 13,700?
Not spinning that high - the AIM EVO4 CAN board is failing due to an incorrect resistor inside the unit. Had the AIM boys over working on it, as its the first time we've seen this problem! Apparently they will all eventually fail, but they have a fix you have to send the unit in for.

On my 54th year as an SCCA member
with a special thanks to every SCCA worker (NONE OF US WOULD RACE WITHOUT THE WORKERS)
Assuming what you are referring to is the K Line from the ECU. I've had the same issue since early last year. Thought we corrected it with a pull up resistor (per aims recommendation).
What did they tell you was the fix? They don't seem to know what exactly is causing it to drop out.
Gary Hickman

Gary, they told us a resistor change should fix it, but only if you haven't already damaged your k line board. Otherwise, the whole k line internal board must be replaced. However, the resistor it has in it is what is spec'd for CAN I believe (1k), so your guess is as good as mine- this is just what they told us. We will see what they come up with
Edit: I am not at all familiar with the aim circuit board architecture, so I can't claim that is accurate. I have not had time to research it farther.
