Sorry guys, had to drop out with a broken fibula. I explored several scenarios that would potentially allow me to race, but ultimately a timely recovery is more important. At this point I'd hate to do anything to prolong the healing process. Couch racing is driving me crazy and it'll be 2-4 weeks before I can walk again. I hate that all my friends get to go play and I'm stuck at home. It reminds me of being on restriction as a kid. :-)
Good luck to everyone and I'll be following you on race monitor. I'll try to make the ARRC.
Tim you will be missed,,,, bummer i was hoping we could hoist a few or a dozen, get well soon ,,,, bob and the guys from Viper.....
Tim, sorry to hear your out of commission. Robin and Lauren will also be disappointed they won't see your mom. Hope you heal up quick and we can see you at the ARRC

The US Formula 1000 Championship finale is just 9 days away, and the event officially gets underway on Monday, September 16th with the first practice session.
The event unofficially gets started this Friday with a track-sanctioned test day and continues through Sunday before things get official. We’ll try to post updates throughout this weekend and during Runoffs week but you can follow us on Twitter for more timely updates and behind-the-scenes info.
Complete schedule of all official sessions:
Monday 9/16- practice 2:50 pm
Tuesday 9/17- qualify #1- 10:00 am
Wednesday 9/18- qualify #2- 5:30 pm
Thursday 9/19-qualify #3-2:00 pm
Thursday 9/19-US Formula 1000 Social Event catered by Hurley Racing Products- 6:30 pm (give or take 30 minutes)

Note that we’ll have our season-ending social event on Thursday night, location TBD but likely at the Loshak/LaBrie/Mayer compound in the lower West paddock, just behind the medical building.
We’ll also have an awards luncheon after the race on Friday, hopefully in that same location. We’ll be honoring our winners from the season and hope that all the drivers and crew can attend both events!
If you can’t be at Road America in person to witness this historic event, you can watch it live. The Sportscar Club of America has announced that the 2013 National Championship Runoffs will be streamed live in HD on www.speedcasttv.com! Not only will this year's Runoffs feature the biggest field, it might be the deepest in talent. There are 23 drivers registered, making up an entry list with 5 national champions with 10 national championships among them, 22 Runoffs podiums, and a total of 88 Runoffs starts among all drivers.
Leading the list is JR Osborne, who has three championships including two scored in two different classes in the same year. JR is attempting to duplicate that feat and tested in his DSR today. Brian Novak, Brandon Dixon, and Lawrence Loshak all have two national championships on their resume and Dixon returns as the reigning Formula 1000 champ. Juan Marchand makes his second Formula 1000 championship after winning the Formula Mazda title in 2009. While Glenn Cooper hasn’t won a national championship, he was the 2009 Formula 1000 Champion and is in the hunt for another title this year.
The finale will pay double points so there is a total of 44 race points available plus 4 points for the pole. Of the 23 drivers, five of them have a shot at winning the overall US Formula 1000 Championship if they score all points available. At the top of the list is Lawrence Loshak. Loshak won the US Formula 1000 Championship East with a total of 165 points. Only 3 points back is the US Formula 1000 Championship West winner Lucian Pancea. COTA winner Jose Gerardo sits third, followed by VIR double winner Glenn Cooper, and Alex Mayer.
Lawrence Loshak-165
Lucian Pancea- 162
Jose Gerardo- 159
Glenn Cooper- 149
Alex Mayer- 129

Congrats to Brandon Dixon for breaking the track record by a full second. Quite a feat for someone who is in someone else' s car (mine) and hasn't been on a track for a year. You rock. Not bad buzz

No excuses now JP. That's what you get letting a champ run the car.

Down here in New Mexico we are some pretty tough hombres. We can take a lot of heat.
Congrats on the possibilty of having a potential national championship car. Brandon had a remarkable run today. This should be a very interesting week of racing.

It's all good! The car would have sit lonely in the garage this month if not for Brandon. He's a remarkable guy. I can get around the track but don't i pretend to be as good half the troops running this week. We are all a big fb family. I wish everyone luck and safe return this week. Drive it like you stole it!

Learned of Coop's crash in T5 yesterday. Glad he is ok. But, how extensive is the damage? Are there any other cars running the Kawasaki engine?

I think it was rude to leave it near the dumpsters. Doesn't look that bad. But hopefully the driver is in better shape than the car.

Coop!!
Man we're glad to hear your OK! Car looks pretty rough so the safety stuff
done its job. Hate you aren't gonna be in the show but most glad you will be
able to be there!!!!

incredible times guys!!! This is going to be a battle royal. Probably the most competitive race of the entire run offs. Very, very exciting.
Coop brother, sorry to hear about the crash.....at least you are OK and that is all that matters.

Is JRO in the forecast for Q2?? whats gonna happen, is there a 2:03 coming from Loshak, damn.
does anyone have a K7 at the track with headers that I can buy, lease and return in good shape , my new Moon's K5 is good, but this is big boy stuff at Elkhart and i have mickey mouse under the engine cover of the NovaD.
lets get to it, no excuses.
Loshak a force to be reckoned with:
Lawrence Loshak, of Grafton, Wis., set a new qualifying record in the Formula 1000 No. 2 JDR/ETE Reman/Moon Super Cycle JDR F1000/Suzuki of 2:04.786 (115.398 mph), running 1.5 seconds quicker than the existing record.
Loshak jumped out of the quick formula car and into his H Production No. 02 ETE Reman /RWM Auto/Hoosier Honda CRX in the very next 30-minute session, putting it on the pole in that class.
Who will take the FB Class win? This will be exciting. Qualifying #2 up shortly today.

What about Richard Franklin #81? He was at 2:19.003 according to Race Monitor.
I'm glad to hear Coop is ok, but does anyone know what caused the crash? Was there a naked chick in turn 5?
Apparently, brake failure...

Tim:
I have added Richard Franklin to the times.
Please be advised that I furnish the information on a volunteer basis to the FB forum as a courtesy to all interested parties. Many who have an interest can not watch the live timing as it occurs. I try to be very prompt in posting the data. I am not at the races and I do this from my home on my own time.
