I saw the F3 sytle side intake for sale and am considering it (especially with Oscar's recomendation!), but would like to you know what racers experiences are. Is there really a benefit? I'd think that the carb is the restrictive part in the system and it will only flow so much air. Or does it act like a supercharger and force more air though? It probably is an improvement over the stock intake on my 96 (formed fiberglass, that snakes from behind my helmet to the carb, inside the engine cover)

We did the development for grafting a 98 intake onto the 93-95 bodywork in 1998. It made a 100-125 RPM difference on the backstraight at Road Atlanta. They are made by Comprent Motor Sports (706) 543-1797. It is worth talking to Kevin about this alternative.

The F3 air intake is worth putting on. When I ran my RF95, my head used to block most of the stock air intake. When we put on the F3 style intake, the extra airflow helped us gain 100-150 RPM down a long straight. It was a little annoying the way it blocked part of the view in the left side mirror, but it's something you get used to, and it's worth the power gain it provides.
