If I was able to do it again, I'd buy the Safety Solutions !
God is my pilot, I'm just the loose nut behind the wheel !
..........to try the devise on with you in the car and helmet on and belts tight.
It all depends on the reclining angle of the driver: Big folks in short cockpits tend to sit much more upright (bordering on failing a broomstick test), while shorter drivers are seemingly laid right out.
The more reclined, the greater the HANS model #.
Often times large drivers in a very reclined position have the front edge of their helmet contacting their chest. This presents it's own problems with fitment.
I have run the same model 20 in FM, DSR, FC, ASR, and FB.
I even had HWGIC Jim Downing give it a look over and he proclaimed everything good-to-go. Can't get any better than that!
... but am just a bit taller than Coop.
Glenn also makes a good point - be sure you can pass the broomstick test when you're giving it a try. Just purchase it from a reputable vendor and you can always return it within 30 days it for the proper size if you happen to get the wrong one initially.
Thanks guys, I'm gonna try the 30 first if thats too much angle I'll be able to trade for a 20.
Thanks again.
Tony
