Looking at the Mid-Ohio info, it appears there is a PDX on Friday - I assume that means there's no test and tune day available?

There might be one in the evening. Reece did that last year.
Interesting - I'll have to look into that.
Thanks Dave

Just occurred to me that this is Labor Day weekend which means hotels could be in high demand. If there an "official" FST hotel for Mid-Ohio?

Bob,
Did you make any progress on seeing if there would be any test time available and Mid-Ohio on Friday afternoon with their PDX? I have sent a few e-mails to the PDX folks but have not gotten any replies.
Sam
Sam - no I didn't. It turns out I have to go to Court for two hearings on Friday morning so won't get on the road for Ohioo until about noon. Won't get there until probably 8-9PM so I stopped worrying about a test day.

Mid-Ohio does have a open test and tune session of Friday September 2nd. It seems to run from 5:00PMish to 8:30PM, it is $150 advanced purchase, $195 walk up. I am planning to use that track time.

I look forward to watching everyone at Mid Ohio!!! I will be there crewing for my brother who is running his new continental.
See you there,
Ryan
Jason has taken a slight lead in the championship, but with 3 races still to go and 3 rounds to drop he will still need a strong finish to hold off Doug and I. While in the Citation championship its neck and neck....
Seriously we have some fellow drivers who have to sit out this event so the more people we can get on the grid the better - SR has cars for rent....so don't miss out.

Excellent! Based on whispers and other forms of intelligence I think we’ll have 12 entries.
No, I don’t know where Gadhafi is!

Heres my race videos from last year, as always they come with my disclaimer that they may not be the best training tool....There are some video's fom Carl for MO as well in the Video's link.
Last year at MO I ran the back-up car as the gearbox in the 37 quit. The front tires were knackered so you can see lots of understeer - especially in race two.

Mid-Ohio '10 http://www.vimeo.com/14751385
A quick lap run down
Turn 1: 4th Gear - lift and then go (brake until you get your confidence up) - fast need to carry speed for the run to 2.
Turn 2: On Saturday its the club course, I hold 4th through the chicane so its a lift - accelerate then brake and shift down to 3rd for Turn 2. Sunday just brake and shift down into 2.
Turn 4 - Hard brake, downshift and then carry 3rd through 4-5-6-7. I general shift back to 4th between 7-8
Turn 9: Hard brake and shift down.
Turn 11: I carry this in 4th, its a brake then accelerate through - fast corner easy to get wrong
Turn 12 - Brake - downshift - critical corner to get good run onto the front straight - easy to go in too hot and struggling to get the car to turn in wider line is actually better
Turn 13 - Watch for the bump on the inside,
....back to the front straight...
Hope thats helps - remember for this I get 5% of all your winnings but have no responsibility should you find youself in the weeds......
Rob,
Thank you very much, that is what I was looking for.
Sam
Thanks to Jim Nash and Mission Race Cars, it looks like I will be attending Mid-Ohio piloting the MRC-09 for the Saturday round
I am very much looking forward to the opportunity of driving Jim's creation.
Bill Bonow
"Wait, which one is the gas pedal again?"
MRC team principle Jim Nash is pleased to have signed Evolution factory dirver Bill Bonow to drive the first race of the Mid Ohio series weekend. Bill's skills and experience should prove valuble in developing the MRC-09 and possibly bringing the marque it's first series victory.
MRC factory driver Jim Nash is dissapointed to hear of the change and is scurrying to review his contract to see if there is a way to block the move.
MRC truck driver Jim Nash was overheard muttering something about a 14 hour tow being a 14 hour tow regardless of what nut is behind the wheel.
Other team members were not available for comment.
Looking forward to the weekend. It should be fun!

I would think this is some way would violate Bonow's Evo contract which should be enough to suspend him from competing in the series. Can we contact Jean Todt at FIA to see if any action could be taken? At the very least I would think Bonow should get a smaller restrictor plate.
Just trying to stir drama from Kentucky

Unfortunately will not make it to Mid Ohio.
Steve and Reece.
Got a new sponsor that will be allowing me to finish this season and race the entire series next year.
I am extremely excited! Will have a press release out soon!
Look forward to the great racing
Jared
Win, thats great news for you and the series, good luck to all this weekend.
Steve
-s-p-o-n-s-o-r-???
Anyone have any idea what one of those is......
Great news Jared and great for the Series!!!
....hopefully that comes with lots of free stuff you can share with the rest of us....
The RGU Racing Evolution will unfortunately not be attending the Mid-Ohio race as originally planned. Hurricane Irene blew those plans apart (pun intended). Still without power and water in my neck of the woods and have still have a lot of debris (and work) to clear out. Hope every one has a safe and enjoyable race and holiday weekend. See you in Atlanta!
A gal at my wife's office asked her if my law firm sponsored my racecar. Mary just looked at her and said "well yes, it's his firm, he's the only one, so I suppose it does" and then she laughed. The gal says "well that's nice that he's got help covering the costs" Clearly, not the brain trust there! Perhaps she should apply for a job as government economic advisor!

I have to report another casualty of hurricane Irene. RGU racing will not have two entries at Mid Ohio since George Podgorski has no electricity and can’t even get his trailer into his driveway due to fallen trees. The earliest data for getting power back for George is 9/3. This is really too bad since George has replaced the weak front spring pack with real ones and was due to install his new Autowerks motor. Too bad.
Plan B is to go to either the Glen Fun One or to the Oct 1 Lime Rock race. Since the FFDA is considering WGI for a series stop next year that’s my preference.
The ARRC is the next time there will be a two car RGU Racing entry.
Man that sucks - sorry to hear George - was looking forward to seeing you again.

Does anyone have room on their crew list so I can attend and watch my old
Citation FST this weekend?
Thanks!
