    Default Don Nichols/AVS'Shadow Cars?

This is a long shot but here goes. I have a 1961 Lotus Elite that was owned by someone that worked on the Shadow/AVS team in some capacity. Is there anyone that may know any people that were ass0ciated with the team in the 70s that I might communicate with? This was in the Phoenix area, I presume that's where AVS/Shadow was located?

    Jerry,

At some time, around '70/72 they were based in Chicago when racing in F5000 with Chrysler power.

You might check with Bruce Canepa or Ron Chisholm.

Here is a picture of Nichols visiting our garage at the Monterey Historics last August. He's hard to miss. I got a kick out of the clever logo on his cap. I'll try to dig out an email address.

Mr. Nichols is indeed living and working in Salinas, Calif (just down the road from Laguna Seca).

    Default Shadow Site

Wow, what a website!!! Very interesting information and pictures but, man it takes a LONG time to load a page !! I saw the original tiny Shadow at Mt. Tremblant with Vic Elford driving and it was absolutely incredible. Follmer's F1 drives were stunning at the time. Who knows what would have happened to the team if Revson had not been killed.
