At the Mid-America Motorplex National on August 16, the F500 Side pod rule which was printed with conflicting errors in the 2009 GCR was used to strip a hard earned finishing position from a competitor. Stewards at the event used multiple statements of forgone outcome to disuade the competitor from persuing the SCCA Protest/Appeal process within the time limits of such process.
The erroneous rule printing and it's flawed application were brought to the attention of the CRB. Upon the presentation of the applicable facts and historical GCR materials the following was issued by the CRB.
