    Default Australia sticks with Dunlops

This message from the controlling body of Formula Vee in Australia

"The Board of the Formula Vee Association of Australia FVAA would like to notify competitors that it is in the process of finalising contractual arrangements with Dunlop Tyres, who emerged as the successful tenderer for the exclusive supply of Formula Vee tyres for a period of 5 years, commencing 1 January 2010. Please note that only Dunlop tyres will be permitted in all competition nationally commencing 1 January 2010."

This ends the experiment with "American Racers" and Dunlop providing a fall back alternative.

The selection of Dunlop tyres was a result of a tender and evaluation process.

    Ian Lee

    Ian,

Any comment about the Hoosier tests? Knew some were sent to OZ for testing, but never heard much else?

    Bill,

Reading through the minutes of the FVAA Board Meetings

    http://www.fvee.org.au/folder.2007-05-09.1026925656/

Dunlop and Hoosier were the only two repondants to the Tyre Tender invitation.

Both companies supplied tyres and paid for the testing.

The tyres were evaluated via track testing for consistancey, durability, wear.

Two different selection criteria were applied to both compainies offers, taking into account the track testing results along with other factors such as price & support.

The results of that selection process assessed that Dunlop were the preferred supplier and a 5 year contract offer to Dunlop.

Beyond that I do not know.

    Regards,

    Ian
