    Default 84 Reynard Brake Help

I need to order pads for my 84 Reynard SF, and have been told they are two caliper types offered, the LD19 and LD20. The ones on the car are marked AP 901C 3242. Anyone out there know which Lockheed caliper this is?

Don't know about the casting numbers. You may have a mix of LD-19's rear and LD-20's front. Or LD-19's all around or, LD-20's all around. Just depends upon what the owners have done to the car over the years.

Pull the pads. Measure across the backing plate 'length wise'.

If they are about 2 3/8 th's inches they are LD-19's.
If they are about 2 5/8 th's inches they are LD-20's.

That's just not true. After spending 4 years in the service, you learn to wipe with 'style'

I'm talking old time military. Maybe todays politically correct military uses doors. How rude.

    Default 84 Reynard brakes

It would be very rare if you had the large brakes on the car, as there would be a caliper clearance issue if you have Compomotive wheels. You would be well served with the KFP Magnum, blue (P4211) compound of Carbon-Kevlar brakes.

    Default LD-19

The Reynard definitely came with LD-19s on all 4 corners, but some folks have put LD-20s on the car--usually on the front. In addition to checking the pad dimensions, you can measure the pistons. LD-19 is 1.625", while LD-20 is 1.75".
