    Default Hot Wheels!!!! Vote

While we all wait for the vote on the Elan zetec to go down...... Here's something you can feel confident your voice can be heard at.... Besides all the Finnelli poles...

My son has a video entered in a contest with Hot Wheels... He made the top 10... now he needs votes!! Please help his college/karting fund!

Go to the link below, click on his video, hit "VOTE". His video is the only one in wide format..... It has black bars above and below the video. (see below!). It also has his full name at the beginning. You don't have to watch the whole thing to hit the vote button - though its a fun way to pass a workday.....

    http://www.hotwheels.com/coolstuff/t...challenge.aspx

Thanks! (I promise a big apex donation if he wins!!)

    Matt

You can vote once a day! And ends April 7th

    Wow!
Max's Hot Wheels budget has to exceed my race budget both in dollars and time invested.
Like they said in the 60's....Cool!

Like my amphibious friend, I am envious of Max's Hot Wheels setup. The video had real production values too! So Max got my vote, but Matt you need to remind him once he wins, that I am what the politicians refer to as a "special interest".

    Awesome!

See, this is the exact reason why Kim would be terrified if we ever had boys. We'd take over the house with toy cars.

    (Humor... and perhaps some truth)

Ummm Matt, are we perhaps just a tad bit bored during the off-season? Now i will admit as a kid there was a Lego collection, but OMFG what is THAT... $2500 in Hot Wheels stuff??? Now we all like collecting things, and it is way cool you and your offspring have a great time together, but... ummm.... there is thing thing in life called 'balance' or 'moderation.'

Then again screw all the above, go for it full force! Nice video, killer tunes and looks like great fun.

Agreed, you have my vote for coolest dad!

Now be honest, what did all that stuff cost? (and NOT race budget math you tell the wife , i'd like to know the real cost )

    PS: i voted

Default can you say 'Big Lots'?

Whenever Court Dowis (FM/FC in SEDIV) has a racing-oriented purchase (helmet, engine, suspension...) he tells her he got it at the 'Big Lots' store.

Big Lots is a clearance discount store that buys excess inventory from other stores and sells at deep discounts.

I wonder if she just rolls her eyes and sighs or believes him....

I thank you all and Max thanks you!!
Now if you all vote every day for a month............ Yea - not even I'm THAT nuts..... I'll bump this 2-3 times maybe..... Being in the top ten, he gets at least $500.... So its all pretty cool.... But its the $10k that will get him an 80cc shifter

The track took about 2 days to put together.... It was mostly his idea, I just made it work. The stairs (his brother's idea) were the hardest part - it was crazy fast, standing at the bottom was hazardous.... It was just about all the track we had - only a few contraptions didn't make it - The video is over 2 minutes long - it actually takes about 50 seconds start to finish.

They have all different flavors of videos on there - but I think ours has everything combined.... The music is Max's favorite song from a HW music CD (they even have those...).....

In the end, it was fun just to do it with them.....We didn't light it on fire like they wanted to - but I think we will remember it for a while and thats cool to me....

Its amazing how much HW "stuff" we have - no idea how much...... I guess gentlemen don't tell. That was about half the cars on the floor....I don't add hobbies up - It would probably make me stop being a kid....

Doug! Best to start collecting now.....Trust me....

    Matt,

Be careful, it gets expensive real quick being such a "cool dad", "they grow up so quick".

Good fun for next "fast McDonough"

    Default internet challenged here...

OK, I clicked on th elink, but no videos were displayed from which to choose?

I tried registering, but that didn't do me any good.

I tried moving the pointer all over the 'video challenge' screen, but nada.

What do I need to do to see Max's video?

so from the main page (http://www.hotwheels.com/index_hwkids.aspx) it is below the two cars in an area labeled Trick Tracks video challenge. Click that and then you should get to the 10 videos.

If you can't see it, are your browser settings allowing for asp or the plug ins it needs? I'd probably just try to check it out on a different computer.

Oh, if I told you my collection already dwarfs Max's, you'd laugh. I have 3 20-gallon cases of vintage (new) orange track, redline-era accessories, curves and other fun stuff. Not to mention just about every First Edition car sold since 1997... among "other" things.

My future kids already have a killer Hot Wheels collection—current and vintage.

I've lost track of how many times I've voted, although I guess that's a good thing. I had a simple setup when I was younger (nothing fancy like that) and I'm pretty sure I got 65mph out of them. Did some damage too (walls, freezer door, skin). I also had a huge racetrack made out of Lego with Indy style cars (took up over 45 square feet). Anyways, back on topic, keep collecting Max (keep buying Matt), and good luck.
